I don't fault him for leaving. He may never have played a meaningful snap here. But Maryland??? And Locksley??? There are probably better programs he could have gone to with better coaches.

I get the fact that some posters here feel a certain amount of affection for Locksley because of his time here. But Locksley is not a good head football coach...not by any stretch of the imagination.

Don’t think he would have got a scholly if he wasn’t Tua’s brother. We threw that scholly away. Could have used it on a punter.

small QB's in general are not as affective as tall ones unless you play in a wishbone or run option style offense. How many balls did we bat down against Stetson and Lia is not any taller then that QB. And I said in general so please dont tell me about the OK qb who won the Heisman. Think of average.

Lia could probably be starting at most SEC schools.

If that's what it took to get Tua here, it wasn't wasted at all.

I think some hyperbolic takes are in here. Taulia definitely still looked really good on HS. He didn't get the scholarship just because of his brother. Now some were saying he may be better than tua and that was always nonsense

Regardless, he obviously made the right choice to transfer. He wouldn’t have won the job at Bama. People on here assume a kid is going to be a legend just because they’re related to someone or because they had insane high school numbers...just like those saying Young would come in and win the job after 3 games. Young has been well short of phenomenal so far. I’m sure he’ll develop, but he’s not the second coming of Tua

Did not watch the whole game, but from what I saw he went big play hunting to early.
Some of what they ran as for route combinations was what we do as well.
He went first read too often and there were times were just like Smitty cleared out for Slade/post waddle or cleared for Metchie.Speaking of that Mac Jones went first read to Smitty when Metchie was wide open for the score.
Mac Patted his chest telling Metchie my fault.

The Kid is still young and Maryland is not loaded at some spots.I think based on high school film he can be serviceable and I don't know what the rush was to get him in there. In saying that Locks must have felt he was the choice.

Qb have to be developed if there not a Tua/young type.
Mac Jones has been in our system and developed and now he balling out.

Maryland had nearly 700 yards of offense last night. Quite a turn around from last week. 396 through the air and 280 on the ground.

That was a good performance by Lia. Happy for him and Locks picking up the W. But what last night showed is that Minnie’s defense is a sieve and that offensive explosion by Michigan last week might not have been all due to Harbitch righting the ship. I think it’s a strong sign you will see Michigan in a much tougher game vs Sparty today and that the hype train in Ann Arbor was premature.

I enjoyed the game and Taulia was fantastic. Started out hot and used his legs and arms to get it done. Was really a great comeback and finish.

My only question, can Mike Locksley be a head coach? From what little I've seen last season and this, he has zero defense and his team still does a lot of stupid things that cost them big time. The last play of the game in regulation that wasn't because Mike hadn't figured out you should call a time out with a few seconds left and heave into the endzone when they were standing around mid-field was an amazing piece of nonrecognition.

Still very entertaining. ESPN will be singing Taulia's praises all week for this 17-point 4th quarter comeback.
