I just don’t like the direction the defense is headed! I wasn’t that impressed with any of the db’s other than the one that got hurt. They have zero depth! Linebacker play is atrocious! The d-line wasn’t bad but they really didn’t have any edge rushers. Now throw in the Jr defectors and they are even thinner. We used to have lineman and linebackers in waiting that you just knew would be dominating, that’s not the case anymore! Hopefully im just panicking and still shell shocked from last Monday!! I just don’t like the idea of having to outscore the elite teams in a shootout every time we play one. I want my typical Alabama elite defense back!!!

Defenses give up points these days, offenses are to good and RPO so effective that there will be busts and drives. You are severely overstating the confidence we had in the upcoming players, every single time we had turnover on defense a huge topic would be "could x player replace legendary piece of elite defense Y".
This is the shellshock talking and while I agree we will be young next year Saban and Tosh had the same issue this year and now can use this learning experience to better prepare the next group. Also the schedule next year is a joke until the second half of the season, we have time to develop and aclimate to the new players and staff.

This is the worst post-Clemson hot take I have seen.

As fans we expect Bama to field a elite defense every year, spoiled I guess. But in reality it doesn’t happen but every so often.
79,92,09 & 2011 is probably the best elite defenses I’ve seen at Bama.

2011 defense was just nasty. Probably my favorite. Was just on a different level we might not see again.

The game is too soft for another 2011 Bama defense. They weren’t just great as a defense but physically punishing too.
