Steve Prohm wouldn't be a disappointing hire.

I know some who think we have a legit shot at Billiy Donovan may be disappointed with it, but Prohm would be a really good hire.
Here are a few of his accomplishments while at Iowa State
*Has taken the team to the NCAA tourney 3 out of 4 years.
*Went to the Sweet 16
*Won the big 12 tournament this season.
I would rather have Matta, and assume he will be the first call, but if he isn't ready to come back to coaching yet, Prohm seems to be the likeliest choice and one I would be excited for.

Where in the hell did this come from?

I hope they swing for the fences. I’d rather have hire Forbes than Prohm personanally.

How is Forbes swinging for the fences? He has made the NCAAT once in four years at ETSU.
As I said, Prohm isn't my first choice but he is a very good choice, and a realistic one. He has proven he can get a major conference team to the NCAAT consistently, which is more than you can say about these mid major coaches like Anthony Grant, who are hit or miss.
While not my first choice, I will be very happy if Alabama hires Prohm.

Do folks actually watch games? ISU fans are crucifying Prohm for not making adjustments in their loss to OSU.

Its Donovan, Pitino or bust IMO. And don't give me this holier-than-thou Sunday school bullshite either.

Its Donovan
UCLA and potentially Kansas are opening up and he'd be handed the jobs
Extremely hard to see Donovan both choosing to leave a playoff NBA team And choosing a non blueblood

Pitino is more of a UNLV type character.

I am not sure what game you, or the fans you refer to watched but Prohm made a huge second half adjustment to go with Cam Lard who has rarely played this year, to match up with Wesson who was dominating them inside. This adjustment almost led to Iowa State winning the game, they only lost by 3 points, it's not like they got blown out.

I've heard coach K is getting tired winning at Duke and wants a change of colors. I may have been asleep when I heard this though.

I like both ok, but I'll give up basketball entirely before I get intimate with either of them

If you were one of the top 5 available coaches in CBB would you want to go to a school that has gona to the NCAAT twice in the last 12 years and a dinosaur for a venue?
Not sure what some of you are smoking but realistically, we aren’t even a top 40 CBB program currently and are very unlikely to attract an elite CBB coach.
Hopefully we hire someone who we can take us to the next tier where we can become a good Bball program again and attract top coaches.

You still start with the best and make them say no.

I agree, just saying they are likely to say no. We couldn’t even lure Wichita State’s coach away. Not likely that we are gonna land Billy Donovan or someone like that.

We're in no position to call a coach who has been to three tournaments in four years a 'disappointment'. Obviously there's better coaches, but he would still be exciting and a step up from what we've been.

Would Billy D return to Florida if they offered and he wanted to come back to CBB?
You know, considering they're a blue blood and all.

isht, we have fans of uk/unc that don't consider UCONN to be a blue blood.

Pitino is one of the best coaches of all time. He's also a pretty terrible human being. Hard pass.
