This is just my opinion and I admittedly have limited knowledge of softball, but Murphy needs some fresh coaching. I believe he’s loyal to a fault and it’s holding us back. This isn’t a panic post. I’ve felt like this for awhile.

Just watch some of the games on YouTube and while pitching isn’t good the Defense has BEEN AWFUL.

Agree that #8 is too high for Bama. After handily beating UNC and having a 7-2 lead over FSU going into the top of the seventh inning, Murphy pulls Fouts and brings in Goodman to clean up. OK, no problem in seeing what Goodman can do. However, after the first two batters, it was clear that Goodman didn't have the control to retire the side. So Murphy lets Goodman stay in, the game completely unravels and FSU eventually wins. You could actually see the energy and confidence drain from the entire team. Next day Bama loses badly to FSU and UNC. This is ALL on Murphy.

Bama with an extremely tough tournament starting today, they play #2 Washington today, #1 UCLA tomorrow and #9 Oklahoma St Saturday.
