I'm about the only one here agreeing with you.
IMO, if Auburn beats Georgia, Auburn will retain enough firepower and confidence, that they'll beat Alabama as well. I just don't have the confidence in Alabama that they'll be able to win at Auburn this year. Alabama's defense is such a liability, I still think a shitty offense like Auburn's will still muster enough against us with trickeration, etc. Plus, their defense WILL lock down Alabama to where I see Alabama getting, by far and away, their lowest score of the year.
Gus wants to beat two teams more than any other each season and that's Arkansas and Alabama
Whether Alabama beats a 8 win or 9 win Auburn, doesn't mean nearly as much as the others like Oregon and Baylor losing

This Bama team is going to have to learn to stand on its hind legs and win some fights against the big boys. This team has had their mulligan and then some. Golding gets a second shot at redemption and gets to show the football world he's got the goods after all.

The only thing that will ever matter in the football universe for me is what's best for Alabama. And what's best is to win national championships. After that, let the chips fall where they may. And I live 30 minutes from Opelika West and it doesn't change a thing.

Yes, we need all the chaos we can get and you are right, it won't matter if The PAC 12 Champion doesn't drop another game. But there's a few weeks left for that to happen. Right now we need LSU, Ohio State, Clemson and UGA to lose one. Since 3 of the 4 ain't happening this weekend, we go with the most likely which is Auburn over UGA in Jordan Hare. Nothing personal, it's just business.

PAC 12 Champion

There is the major flaw in the playoffs selection, that just because one team is a conference champion and one team isn't, then the conference champion should get in.

That would be fine if all the conferences were equal, but they are not. The SEC is far tougher then the Big 12, ACC or Pac-12.

A Auburn team that will finish around 5th in the SEC, beat the Pac-12 frontrunners in Oregon with a true freshman QB making his 1st start.

Until all conferences are equal, then conference champion has no business being one of criterias used to select the 4 teams in the playoffs.

Amen. I like the way you think, though I throw-up a little in my mouth every-time I attempt to say War Eagle.

Not sure if this had been mentioned but Georgia beats Awbarn and LSU then Georgia and LSU are both in,we are 100% out.

It would be possible that even LSU might not get in.
Undefeated tOSU
Undefeated Clemson
Georgia
12-1 Oregon,12-1 Oklahoma, 13-0 Baylor

What would be interesting if some weird set up would be if Minnesota runs the table and so does Georgia
Then the committee would possibly have to choose between a one loss LSU and a one loss tOSU

Too many scenarios, I’m just hoping we take care of business the rest of the way. If we don’t make it in then we likely don’t deserve it. The team on the field Saturday in Tuscaloosa was not a CFP caliber team.

But I’m not above throwing some TP in a tree if it will help......

I wish I was like you people.....ignorant to how AU operates. It's hard enough to beat a down AU team at AU in the first place. Do you really want to go up against a confident AU team at their place? You know, the place where some of our best teams struggle mightily and some times even lose? Let's not forget we never seem to beat a confident 9 win AU team.....ever. We can still get in the playoffs other ways. I really don't see UGA beating LSU in the SEC champ game. So let's go ahead and pencil LSU in the playoffs. Which means UGA is out of it. We really only need chaos from the PAC 12 and we would need that go get in anyways.

If we’re truly deserving of the playoffs, we should be able to beat them or anybody.

that isn't necessarily so, especially if Alabama pounds Auburn, whereas LSU vs Auburn was a 3 pt game. That aside, the last loss is always worse than an earlier loss. A good example is Auburn beat Alabama 2 years ago, then Auburn lost to UGA in the SEC title game. UGA and Alabama went to the playoffs.

and yes, I think Auburn had another loss that year .There are other examples. In any event, I doubt we're in this year, and after the last 10 years of excellence, I can deal with that.

As much blowback as there has been, I don't think 2 SEC teams will make it in this year, in spite of "the 4 best teams"

-AU had 3 losses at the time and no 3-loss team will ever make the playoffs
-Bama went to hte playoffs because the Big 10 and Pac12 champions both had 2 losses

Admit it, you've been watching those Stevie Wonder BudLight commercials?

In my world, the dawgs go down to the barners and LSU takes it on the noggin this week vs Ole Miss and then gets beat again vs the aggies. Bama then makes it to Atlanta where they crush a 2-loss dawg team.

Now, where's my Bud?

I just don't think 2 SEC teams will make it this year, and for the record, I have already said that if Fromm has a good game, I think UGA will beat LSU.

agree, I don't think 2 teams from any conference will ever make it unless you have multiple P5 conference champions with multiple losses.

It's time to get to 8 teams in the playoffs. Actually it is past time.

I see UGA winning a close game vs the Barn and LSU takes out UGA in Atlanta. Beating Miss State will be a challenge for Bama and there isn't anyway Bama will blowout AU at Shug's place. If Bama wins by one vs AU then that will be great.

I've always been staunchly against this. My thinking is after 13 weeks, 12 regular games plus CCG weekend, you are still only 8th you have clearly done somethign along the way to no longer deserve a national title. And hell even if that did happen the 9th team would complain, you'll always have someone complain for not getting in. I think 4 is perfect and after 5 years so far I can't point to any decision the committee has gotten wrong.
