They have a really talented defensive front.

Ole miss- strange mix on roster.... doesn't have balanced approach on offense. Offense take a step back this year.
Arkansas.. tough on defense and they got that qb...they made it a game for us.
Tennessee- you never know. They're inconsistent.
LSU- with a young qb... if they go with Daniel... he'll make lot of mistakes

Gibbs can be had at +5000 for Heisman odds. I got him earlier at +6000.

I actually think that 2022 might have a higher overall team ceiling than 2020 due to the defense.
My post was just in response to people saying we might be better on offense and that is a really high bar. Sark was just toying with people all year. What he did to UGA and Ohio State was borderline cruel and unusual treatment and UGA was an incredibly talented defense in 2020.
One week he’d run power with Najee behind that monster OL, then they’d go spread the next week and shred people vertically. At times he was not even exploiting weaknesses, I think he just wanted to see if he could go strength on strength and the answer was almost always yes.
But the trio of Anderson/Turner/Braswell with a veteran NFL caliber secondary behind them is something 2020 couldn’t dream of. Just look at the SECCG and you will know the deficiencies that defense had.
The 2022 offense should be ultra elite, but they don’t have to be the best of all time because their defense won’t be giving up the kind of points the 2020 team did.

The schedule is brutal though.
Is it?
-Texas isn’t top 25
-@Arkansas should be tough against a top 20 team, but other than OL we are better at every position
-A&M is top ten if they have a QB
-@Tennessee could be a tough matchup with a top 5 offense, but the defense is a huge ?
Outside of that I don’t think anyone else is predicted to win more than 7 games in conference, right?

At LSU and Ole Miss on back to back weeks will be very tough.

The 2020 defense had flaws to be sure but that was a weird year all the way around with the COVID restrictions not allowing full tackle practices. Oh and that Florida offense two years ago was loaded. They torched everything in their path. Kyle Pitts is one of the freakish talents that I've seen in recent years. Nobody in America could match up with him.

I have no idea what to expect from Ole Miss this year, but by November they’ll be their best version of themselves and they have a bye while we play at LSU the week before. That trip to Oxford is going to be tough. You know Lane will have some crazy stuff for us, hopefully it just blows up in his face again though.

I've always thought OM has a tendency to fade as the season wears on. They usually have good starters with minimal depth and it catches up to them in November.

Only one RB winner in the past 12 Heisman winners (Henry 2015). Devonta Smith was the only other non-QB winner. Gibbs will be a weapon but I don't know, with our current RB room, that he will get even in the same stratosphere in terms of usage as a guy like Henry.

I think Ingram would have been 13 years ago if I am counting right.

Should've said last 13 winners, not 12. Lmao.

I actually think Arkansas is in for a very disappointing season after overachieving last year.

Yeah, could have. But go back to 2000. That's 22 years and there have been four non-QB winners (three Bama guys + Reggie Bush). Very long odds for a non-QB to win it. They just have the ball too much in today's offenses.
Before that time it was more a RB award, just reflecting the offensive conventions of the time.

This is true. They’re seemingly a team full of transfers this year so I was assuming it’ll take them awhile to gel, which is why maybe I thought they’ll be at their best towards the end of the year. I certainly could be wrong though.
