Sark is allegedly an alcoholic

Allegedly?? He showed up drunk for work, press conferences, and speaking engagements.

He just needs to stay dry.

2016 with Shanahan #1 scoring off #2 total yards off 540 points scored
2017 Sark.................#15 scoring off #8 total yards off 353 Points scored

He took over an offense that was the best in the league and should of won the Superbowl to mid pack. That is what worries me.

Just got CBS sports update about Notre Dame dude and the OC position. I'm too drunk and not giving enough fricks to link it.

Nothing new. The CBS article merely recycled and referenced the ESPN and al.com reports.

Our offense scored 31 points in 16 possessions in that game.

Under two points per possession is bad.

2016 with Shanahan

Ryan 69.9% 38 TDs 7 Ints 4944 Yds
Jones 83 Recs 1409 Yds 6 TDs

2018 with Sarkisian

Ryan 69.4% 35 TDs 7 Ints 4924 Yds
Jones 113 Recs 1677 Yds 8 TDs

One got a HC job, one got fired. What was the difference in those seasons? Devonta Freeman didn't play in 2018 and eveyone else fumbled in the red zone.

One year they played in for the superbowl and the other had a losing season. The other didnt beat a team with a winning record.

Matt Ryan had his second best season passing when considering passing yards and completion percentage. Julio Jones led the league in receiving yardage while having his second best season in receiving yards and receptions.

As a long suffering Falcons fan, the offense was pretty good considering that two of their starting OL were out for the season along with their starting RB being hurt most of the season as well. Their defense was the primary reason they weren't play-off contenders this season...

As far as the Kyle frickin' Shanahan comparisons, yeah Shanahan had one great season with Atlanta's run to the Super Bowl...but just about any Falcons fan will tell you, he cost us the Super Bowl with his play-calling when he got so cute. We had the Super Bowl won in the end if he had just called 3 running plays and let Bryant kick the clinching FG...but no, he had to get cute and call passing plays that resulted in a sack and holding penalty that took us out of FG range so NE could tie the game and beat us in OT. When I think of Shanahan, all I think of is the Super Bowl he cost us (I'm sure you can tell, I'm not bitter at all)…

Sarkisian wouldn't have been my first choice, but I think he'll do just fine here at Bama. For Pete's sake, another NFL team wanted him as their OC and he turned 'em down to come here so Bama's not the only one to see value in the guy. At the very least, I'll wait to see how he does in the first few games before declaring the hiring a disaster...

Did you even read the last sentence? The entire difference in those two seasons is that Devonta Freeman was on the IR list and Tevin Coleman can't produce.

That's it. Period.

Sark did his job and did it well. The offensive numbers were very good and can’t be refuted just obfuscated and denied.

With the talent at Atlanta, I could have done well as OC.

I saw on Twitter that Long will be the OC and Sark will be Co-OC and QB coach. And that Stoutland will return to Bama.

Has anyone else seen this?

Irish 247 Mod just said his sources say that while Long has interest In Bama he’s not coming here (Alabama) to coach this year...

Then the fans and analysts are morons. You don't score "every single time" "for a stretch" if you're incapable of calling a solid red zone offense, because you clearly did.

If I recall correctly, the red zone “issues” were at the beginning of the season. The offense improved throughout the year.

Exactly! Facts are Sark is a damn good oc and qb coach. He’s coach some of the best college offenses in recent history at usc and has a great track record with qbs. He had rb playing qb vs Clemson with an offense that he had two weeks to weeks to get ready with.

All these points for Sark are valid, and make sense. Why did the Falcons fire him? This is my concern. They are not a knee jerk type of organization.

People can talk about the AZ OC job all they want, but everyone knows Kingsbury was going to call that offense, and Sark would be there in title only.

I am not anti Sark, but Bama is the best program in CFB. Hiring someone who got fired from a solid nfl team seems confusing.
