Whether that's a half, like Najee and others had the first game, or he just won't start. Saban didn't elaborate.

I don't believe it'll be the whole game though.

EDIT: Cecil just asked...Saban said it'll be a half.

This time it's from the horse's mouth.

Saban made a distinction between the 2. He also added that he thinks the SEC would agree. Which leads me to believe the 2 sides consulted.

Makes you wonder if O’Neal will be disciplined as well. Can’t find anything on him.

I thought he was required to sit out for a half anyway because he was ejected.

That’s usually the punishment the NCAA and SEC hands down to the players that throw a punch.. I’m sure Saban just jumped ahead of it and showed control. He would much rather announce the suspension on his watch then anyone else’s.

That's for helmet-to-helmet.

He got a flagrant foul. Cecil posted the rule.

If you had paid attention better you would have noticed the part where they could get it reduced to only 1 quarter if they did certain things before the game.

I did, so I wasn't even a little surprised when they came out in the 2nd quarter. I expected it.

I think that gives them leeway to give a longer suspension depending on what the player did.

You know, you could've just linked the article that says what you said & lists the "certain things" that had to be (and I suppose were) done. But instead you try to be some kind of jerk.

I will, right after you link the article that said they were even suspended to begin with.

But sure, I'm a jerk for paying attention instead of carrying around false narratives. Your ignorance is my fault, I'm sorry.

so did Saban suspend him or did the sec office do it? if the sec office did it, did they punish the other player as well?

I'd guess that both parties consulted with one another and Saban said he was going to suspend him and the SEC said that was going to be their recommendation anyway, or vice versa. Hopefully they suspend the aTm player too, but I'm not going to hold my breath on that.

The only people that said those were for a half were the hacks at al.com. Even the pregame sideline reporter said they would play in the first half of the Duke game.

Never believe one word you read from any al.com writer.

SI.com It says nothing about it being changed to a quarter suspension.

Interesting because I don't recall Saban ever announcing their suspensions. But I don't read those "experts" because I figured out years ago they rarely know what the frick they are talking about.

At any rate, insiders that posted here said they could do things to lessen the amount to 1/4 and that they were doing them.

At any rate, it's my opinion that anyone who believes Nick Saban suspended them for an entire half and let them off because of a close score after the 1st quarter against Duke just doesn't have a clue. What fricking coach have you/they been watching for the past 11 years?

You are being a jerk. But that's ok, I'm sure you live your life through this by having Sunday film reviews, reporting on recruiting & who is visiting where.

I don't, I'm much nerdier than that. But I'm use to people making up fantasies about my life so they can feel better.

Although, if I did what kind of insult is that supposed to be? I would do it because it's something I would enjoy, and since you are on an Alabama forum, many other people do.

I on the other hand don't give a shite how you spend your Sundays, or any other day, "Dawg".

The A&M player started the whole thing and threw TWO punches. He stayed in the game and gets nothing?
