DUDE SIMPSON WAS SACKED 5 TIMES! 5 TIMES!!! He also stared down receivers and never left his first read. He made one good throw and handed the ball off. What makes you think he’s so great? He could barely move the ball against one of the worst teams in the country.

Because through every viewing we’ve had, and it’s limited for all three, he hasn’t hit the DB in the numbers or thrown the ball straight into the dirt
If Simpson avoided turnovers and had mastery of the offense like everyone just assumes he has, he would be the starter. 2017 was one of the hardest QB situations in the history of the sport. Milroe didn’t have us within 1 snap of the Championship last year and we aren’t undefeated.
Most people on this board, including me, wanted Simpson to grab the brass ring in the off-season because he probably would give us the higher ceiling. But I think it’s fair to assume that there is a major deficiency somewhere

100%
It’s funny because if you take away one of his picks he likely wins the game and is a top 5 for the Heisman. I swear our fans love to linger on one or two bad plays when the rest of the game the guy was our only offense.

Tua is way better than Simpson and was a true freshman.
And Hurts was way better than Milroe.
It's the Great Value Brand Hurts/Tua situation

Things he does well.
1. Running, mostly in a straight line.
2. Throwing the ball far.
3. Throw across the middle
Can do the hard things.
Can't make the simple out pass to the flats.
Only can anticipate the deep pass. He's a turn over machine, but this is all we got, for now.
So, let's ride this pony for as long as we can, I guess.

Everyone can dance around the subject all they want. The question is who gives us the best chance to win. We have seen everyone play.. There is a reason why Milroe is the starter. He is the best we got.
Maybe we revisit this later in the year and Longeran is making waves in practice. But right now you got to win a game on Saturday.

Number 1 is moronic. He has tons of wiggle. He’s broken off 5+ long runs since he’s been at Bama by shaking a guy out of his shoes. Come on man. Be better.

The options aren’t great, but I do think it has looked like, up until now, that Milroe is probably the way you need to go. I’m not saying it’s ideal, I’m saying it’s what we have to do.
This is the only right take to have IMO. Is Milroe ideal? Not at all, but he seems to be the best option we have with the OL that we've been dealt. Simpson looks like he could have potential, but we're really basing that on one throw and scrimmage/HS tape. Even so, he showed no urgency to get rid of the ball or make a decision which is not something you can do behind this line, and he stared down his first read just like Milroe has done.
We have to be able to move the football to win football games. Milroe has clearly shown he can do that better than the other 2 despite the bad mistakes that he's made. Both of his big mistakes involve simple fixes as well (looking off the DBs).

The level of delusion here is crazy and I'm quite sure most of us wanted Ty Simpson. We just realized after the game he isn't ready.
These are our QBs stats against USF
These are the stats of Western Kentucky and FAMU QBs against the same USF
Why is it so shocking that Saban gave Buchner and Ty Simpson a shot against a very bad passing defense and they couldn't produce so he has to go with Milroe?

Considering Simpsons stats are about par for a 9 pass sample size, I don’t know if you’re making the point you think you’re making

WTF people? Let's get behind the guy as he is the starter, but holy hell. He was basically a 50% passer against UTx and should've had a least 1 more INT. He's not 1 bad play from Heisman contention. That is just crazy. He is what we have, and I hope the best for him and the team. but let's be real.

This! He is our dude for the foreseeable future. At least to start the game Saturday. He is our guy, period. Lets get behind JM4 and ride as far as he can take us.

Did you forget that Texas knew every single time that we were passing the ball presnap? I’m honestly surprised we scored at all. Jalen might be a freaking superhero.
I wonder if some of you have ever played football and did a handicapped practice. Our coach did them a couple of times per practice to get the offense to get the assignment right.
The defense is at a massive advantage if they know the type of play Pre snap.

I think Simpson can and will develop, maybe even Milroe. It just shows you what we've had in the past at qb and what we have now. I remember how everyone talked about Hurts, he developed pretty nicely. However, Hurts didn't turn the ball over the way Milroe does, now that worries me, a lot.

I’m tied of beating a dead horse here but yes you can.
Texas was playing 7-7 while we were playing normal football on every single pass play. That definitely contributed to Jalen making a quick(dumb) decision.
