I agree there is a point where its going overboard. But whether its Ryan Williams or anyone else, optics matter. When you're being paid millions (which he is) to perform and youre not, having podcasts and other extra curricular entertainment activities will be brought into the discussion. Thats just the nature of being a.professional athlete.
I think it was a mistake he came out of HS a year early because he was not as mentally and emotionally prepared as he would have been by staying another year in HS. He did himself no favors by bringing a doll out with his finger nails painted in the first game then commence to crumble the rest of the season. Sometimes its best to keep non football things out of football and maybe the coaching staff is partly to blame for not pulling him aside and advising him of that. When youre struggling to live up to standards that theyre paying you to live up to, sometimes its best to get rid of everything that can be pointed to as a potential distraction. Again, a part of me thinks the staff should have done a better job of advising him on optics and how they play a role in his professional life.
I think he'll get it straightened out, I just hope its with our team.

His parents are much interested in the money he is making. If you believe he is getting great support from home, then you have gone the long way around the barn.

I dont have any information on his parents or home life so I cant comment. I just think he left HS too early and it has hurt him.

What was the white dudes name we had a few years ago that seemed to always come up clutch on possession downs? I always think Adams could fill those shoes but he never gets the chance to do so. He seems to have the best hands of the bunch!

I’m convinced no one hates Alabama players more than some Alabama fans on this board. They’d suit up robots in crimson if they could.
I agree 1000% man
We win and it's still anger and negativity. We won! Be happy! We seemed to turn a corner too

Who is Baker?
I think Cole Adams has good hands but he hasnt got much of a look on offense this year.

Ryan caught every single pass in warmups, and every single punt before the Oklahoma game. So it’s obviously mental, and not his skill.

With all of the drops the receivers have had this year Cole has been sinfully misused. Does he have elite route running ability? We don't know but with damn near cod lock catching ability he could certainly be utilized in a way where Ty throws to a spot on the field and CA is depeneded on to be in that spot.
Possession type receivers (with the exception of Cuevas and Germie has had his moments) are missing from this offense.

Lotzeir Brooks and Isaiah Horton have made some big possession catches for us this year at critical times.

I think/guess the issue for Adams getting more playing time at WR is beating press coverage. He cant win on the outside and he is down too far on the depth chart at slot. I think the offense likes to feature the slot receiver and the coaches put a top playmaker at that spot.
I hope he continues to work at it and can be an asset to the offense in the future. At the least im happy to have him back as a punt returner. Is this year 2 for him or 3? I think Bray Hubbard never really stood out much until his 3rd year when PT became available. Some guys just need to get stronger. Age 18 to age 21 is a big difference for most of us.

for all the yelling at the tv when rw drops another pass that ive done this season. just yesterday it dawned on me. rw is still just a kid, this shouldve been his freshman year. regardless of who all was involved in his decision to enter a year early, i'm of the opinion it didnt do him any favors, as far as his play on the field

It was a decision about opening his earning window a year early. It was also a decision to put him into an elite development program a year early.
Deboer talks a lot about opportunities. RW has been given opportunities beyond just playing football. Im talking about the podcasts and the advertisments. It's probably too much.
Saban didnt even let freshmen talk to the media. It wasnt because he was worried about what they might say. It was because he didnt want them to have to worry about all that extra noise. Just focus on playing your position.

Yes, they have but none have developed into that must have possession receiver on 3rd down.
