Former Alabama DC dies at 72

I was unfortunate enough to be at UA during Dubose-Fran-Shula and I can tell you that although it mostly sucked as a fan, Carl Torbush was a real dude. One of the friendliest guys you'd ever meet. Came across him twice around the athletic facility and he was awesome to talk to, down to earth and super nice. RIP.

He was an incredibly nice guy. Everyone here that ran into him during his time at UNC has nothing but nice things to say about the man. Did solid work at Bama during his short stint as well.

RIP

Torbush was a solid DC. That defense in 2002 was pretty stout. He's the fourth Alabama-related person to die from that era within the past year. What the hell is going on?

He was my position coach for two years. Tough, old school guy. I liked him a lot. RIP

He was visiting with students in the Ferguson Center. I want to say it was the spring of 2002 and the Iron Bowl trophy had just been returned after the recent basketball game. It was on display in the Ferguson Center. Very nice guy to take the time to just come out and chat with normal students. Always appreciated that. Hate to hear of his passing.

He's a great guy - used to come to our high school baseball practices when he was in the area for recruiting because our pitching coach was his college roomate at Carson Newman.
