Why you talking that shite about Ricks I'm telling you right now he will have an INT real soon. You can see it coming.
I’m not even sure the idiot is a real Bama fan. He’s probably a troll. Anyone who’s seen Ricks play has been wondering all season why he’s sitting behind Jackson and Arnold.

it’s the definition of reactionary. ricks played a fair amount first few games, no one was saying this. arnold was skyrocketing draft boards.
it’s why arnold was higher on 24 boards than ricks is on 23 boards coming into tonight.
but we lose a game to tennesee where arnold struggled and suddenly ricks finally shows something and all the dumbest ppl on the board suddenly in unison are now claiming to have been clamoring for it.
textbook.

The only reason Ricks went to LSU is he had a relationship with Coach O going back to his childhood when he camped at USC.

Sticking with Hurts over Tua was much worse.
Hurts was a stud too he just struggled throwing with accuracy deep. It wasn’t as easy as this decision imho.

the same ppl saying this are the ones who were stupid enough to post here that hurts couldn’t complete a forward pass at the time fyi. they’re a real special bunch.

And, to be honest the DC and DB coach got me scratching my head because Terrion Arnold was an improvement over Kyree Jackson who was the initial starter and now Ricks is an improvement over both Terrion and Kyree. How does that happen?!

simpleton struggling to make his hilariously simple methodology make sense even though it obviously doesn’t.
getting adorably close to getting it, yet so far.

Waddle was the best receiver we ever had aside from Julio and he only started one season. Derrick Henry, arguably the best RB in the NFL, almost transferred bc he was stuck behind a bunch of scrubs.
There are TONS of bad personnel decisions every year, but we don't notice bc every player we recruit is good.

agreed. “we recruit is good.” so true.

crazy that henry and waddle were both first round picks and national champions after how badly the staff mismanaged them.

Ricks was a proven SEC starter when he came to Bama. And, Ricks plays a position that we were lacking in. That's why Ricks' situation is different than Waddle or Derrick Henry.

I wish our beat writers would grow a pair of nuts and ask Nick about Ricks and Seth
Our beat reporters and professional “insiders” have been pretty useless for a few years now. They break almost no news, or if they do it’s 5 minutes before a public announcement so what’s the point.
They’re still good on recruiting but not worth a subscription anywhere frankly if you want to know anything about the team. You’ll find more on this board and by listening to some of the more local radio guys or former players on social media.

Yeah im just saying... every year we've got guys on the bench who should be starting.
Hell, there are probably dudes who came through here that we don't even know about who could've gone pro.
Levi Wallace comes to mind as a guy who barely earned a starting spot, and now he's ballin out in the NFL

Agreed. I just wish Nick would get the question.

To think the Vandy transfer started the first game and Henry T. started the first game last season but Ricks gets to start at mid-season?!

Ricks wasn't starting at the beginning of the year because he had not learned the defense yet. Saban was constantly talking about showing consistency in practice.
Who knows at what point Ricks finally started to show consistency, but Arnold had been playing pretty well until the last couple of weeks. So I'd love to know why Ricks wasn't inserted during the games where Arnold was struggling since Ricks has clearly learned the defense at this point.

Arnold looked great before the A&M game. He couldn't cover seemingly anyone after that point. And I know it was a jump in competition. But it was a bit strange

Saban did say that every job was up for grabs after the TN loss. Maybe that was just his way of saying we're going to start playing the better players instead of sparing players' feelings

I'm not buying that. Y'all act like Ricks was at some podunk school. He was a starting CB at LSU! Corey Raymond, who coached all of the recent LSU stud DBs coached Ricks. The kid was coached up and ready to roll when he got to Tuscaloosa. Saban for whatever reason didn't want to give the kid the job until he could no longer avoid it. And, Corey Raymond turned down an opportunity to be on Bama's staff.
