I feel like this transfer portal being public is gonna cause a lot of unnecessary fanbase freakouts. If wonder how many times a player explored options pre portal but ultimately decided to stay.

Listened to Saban y’all at a luncheon last week. You could tell he’s not a fan of it. It gives the players this perceived leverage when they want an easy way out. Especially with the NCAA being all cucky about approving transfers.

He said one player threatened to enter the portal because he didn’t want to do a certain workout. Saban said “No problem. Let me walk you down the hall.”

Isn't it pretty unlikely that we're waiting on somebody at this point?

Donovan is sort of an absurd name to begin with, but if we're "waiting" on him it better be pretty much wrapped up. The playoffs don't even start till April 14 and they are absolutely, positively making the playoffs.

Who else is there? Sampson? Beard seems like he could do better than us.

Anybody else would be pretty out of left field.

The NIT is basically just Marshall, I guess.

Although it obviously could be somebody we're not even thinking of.

Wouldn’t say that’s good news considering he’s the only big man we have that can protect the rim worth a dog shot, but it was expected.

Also I just can't find it in myself to care about the portal. It's not like we're desperately trying to keep a good team from breaking up.

Hell at this point, ya know what, every last one of them - get that arse in the transfer portal. Good riddance to any memory of the Avery Johnson era.

Regarding transfer portal I wouldn't worry to much. Incoming coach will have a leg up on rerecruitung returning player. There are some returning he'll probably not want back.

Rumors on Pelphrey, McDermott are only that. No way Byrne fires mediocre coach & goes the same route.

Just because they are in the portal doesn't mean they are leaving. This is the smart thing for them to do until they know who their coach is going to be.

Guys, I’m fairly certain it won’t be McDermott.

I don't want anyone to transfer just so the people that have been saying this kind of stuff all year have to back peddle about the players being the issue.

Duke, Memphis, & TCU have been among those that have reached out to the All-SEC freshman Kira Lewis, who lead Alabama in scoring & assists. Lewis was the second youngest player in Division-I this season.

Ok, if Kira and Trendon both join up at Memphis Im gonna melt.

Well, yeah, that's the other thing. People are freaking out when most of this is just players covering their asses. If we hire a good coach, they'll stay.

I really hope they commit to starting on the Coleman Coliseum refresh much earlier than 2021. It’s time to do something to that shite hole now.

I don't want anybody to transfer in general. Half of the reason why I don't really care (more than half really) is that it's just a contingency. It doesn't really mean anything at this point.
