His offense and defense lacks CREATIVITY.

Like on obvious passing downs I would have like a 3-2-6 look or just in case it's a possibility of a run 4-1-6 look.

You got to think outside the box now with how crafty offenses are.

My defense in 3-2-6 would have...

Anderson
Young
Turner

Moody (Better in coverage than HT)
D.Hellams (Bring him down to LB)

Kool-Aid
Arnold
Jackson
Ricks

Branch/Moore
Battle/Story

It's something different but it could be really effective.

Golding was never a LB or a LB coach (until he got to Alabama). He does not have the instinct or rage that make a MIKE into the top dog they need to be. If you do not know it you can not teach it...except on the white board.

Golding is a white board hero and that is why he got the job to begin with. He likes HT because HT knows what to do and can make adjustments as the field coach. HT does not have the killer instinct or strength and Golding does not know what that should look like.

Honestly HTT hasn’t had super all American games but he doesn’t have many poor games either. His big issue is he doesn’t have above average coverage skills and doesn’t rush the passer in an elite manner

Guy has a nose for the ball and can set the defense up well. I’m fine with that, and he wasn’t the issue Saturday

I need to see some A'Shawns, Jon Allens, Raglands, Terrence Codys, Terrell Lewises in that front 7. Right now it looks like we're stuck with a whole slew of Adrian Hubbards.

The Saban that came in and had his 08 class starting in front of every upperclassman on the team doesn't exist anymore.

There was a standard back then, and if you didnt perform you were replaced. Saban hasn't been like that in years.

It was only when all hope was lost in the '17 title game that they finally turned to all the younger players to save their arse and guess what ? They totally bailed us out.

Amen. wish coach Saban could see this message

Former players don't know what they're talking about.

The real experts are on this board. Just read this thread.

The guys on the bench are all just theory until they have been on the field so I don't know if there are different players who should be starting. I do believe the transfer portal has really hurt our culture. Moody's one of the last guys who went the distance with the program and knows what it takes to win championships. Clearly this team has a problem, I don't think it's necessarily who is playing so much as they collectively have the killer instinct of a fat green caterpillar, or a box of cotton balls. I miss the days when Saban described the defenders as a "hateful bunch"

I an guarantee Moody would have brought the pain to Hooker on a play or two. Getting hit hard like that gets in a QBs head and Alabama allowed Hooker to relax, get comfortable and get into a rhythm with his receivers.
