I agree about taking a lost, but the way they are losing is bad. It has always been hard to watch Milroe play quarterback even when they win. Our fan base is pretty knowledgeable and many saw this early on. This team is discombobulated for one reason or another. DeBoer passed on the perfect opportunity to play Simpson last night and he passed. This bothers me. Either he thinks Milroe is good or he cannot think on his feet.

Or maybe after seeing him in practice for however many months he simply doesn’t think Simpson can cut it?

Agreed. But I think that he should have recognized from the start that Milroe was a terrible fit for the offense.

A first year head coach benches a Heisman-favorite Jalen Milroe coming off an SEC title and playoff berth? No chance.

That just wasn't going to happen. Only Saban could have benched Milroe this season. No first year coach was going to be able to do that.

Honestly, I don't even think it matters at this point. We need to get experience for any QB we expect to be here next season. Anyone but Milroe. It didn't make sense to move on until the season was truly lost. It's lost now, time to move on.

There’s no way Ty Simpson could’ve played any worse last night. Simply refuse to accept that.

Would be difficult to imagine many SEC-scholarship-level QBs playing that bad tbh. Milroe cost us soooooo many opportunities that weren't just poor decisions that led to gifts to the opposing defense.

He turned sideways to run instead of taking the first down on multiple occasions that ended in a punt for our team. Just boggles the mind. He plays hero ball. He wants every game to be like the Mercer game, where he scores every touchdown and everyone else cheers for him.

It’s always about playing hero ball with Milroe. He is an individual playing the most team oriented sport.

Agreed. I wouldn't say Saban left the program in a "bad spot." But things have definitely slipped and that was evident starting 2022.

I would. Discipline gone and mutinous/selfish players.
