Which one you got?

I honestly cannot decide which one is better.

Waddle is better. I love Prothro and hate it ended the way it did, but he’s often overblown because of the era he played in.

That’s a tough one. I loved watching Prothro on the field. He was the best player on the field at all times. Waddle is electric and fun to watch. He can turn any catch or run into a TD. Honestly, I would say Prothro because he was the reason I watched during those years. I can’t help but think what could’ve been with Prothro. Side note, his mother passed away a couple of weeks ago. So, say a prayer for his family.

PS. I would throw David Duece Palmer in that same conversation. Man, I loved watching play as a kid.

The difference between Prothro and Waddle is damn near as drastic as the one between Charly Jordan and Whoopi Goldberg.

Jaylen Waddle. Ee'r day.

Prothro will always be one of my all time favorite Bama players.

However, Prothro didn't play behind three potential first round draft choice receivers and still accomplish what he did.

That’s what I was about to say. I’ve been wondering to myself all year whether I would take arenas or waddle on punt returns.

All you need to know about Waddle is how Saban gushed about him for a about 3 minutes during his signing day press conference a few years ago. Have never heard Nick Saban talk about an incoming freshman like that before or since.

Prothro has THE catch of course but he also has one of the more underrated plays ive ever seen. 3rd down..ran an out pattern for a 1st but the way the ball was throw he to come back in and lay out to make the catch. He's perpendicular...catches the ball ...moves it to his left hand...reaches out past the first down marker and places the ball on the ground and then brings it back before in before he hits the ground. The commentators were like. "Did he do that intentionally?" Game seemed so slow for that dude. That being said...i do like watching Waddle and can see why he was so high on Bamas board

Palmer is who I see when Waddle is out there. Brings back memories.

Prothro IMO.

I just can’t get out of my head how much worse our offense got that year once he broke his leg.

I hate losing to Auburn but the biggest reason I’m pissed off is that Waddle’s performance against them will now be in the ashbin of history.

Waddle has turned into an incredible gamebreaker and has the potential to be one of the best we’ve ever had. I just hope we can have 1-2 other guys stay so he (and they) can get some help.

While I wholeheartedly agree with this, perhaps, considering our recent spate of injuries, Prothro and Waddle shouldn’t be mentioned in the same post. Sorry, I’m just superstitious.

As a WR or as a PR? It's Waddle either way, but if we're talking PR, Arenas is the guy to beat, and waddle probably does beat him. Spare me your nostalgia about Palmer. Arenas and Waddle are both better.

Waddle is better but I’ll always be more emotionally biased to Prothro. Bright spot in those dark years

As a WR or PR/KR?

I'd rather have Arenas as a returner.
