Since I’ve criticized several of his decisions, I’ll give him a few props that he got right.

1) sticking with Talty in the IB. I couldn’t believe we were kicking the 45 yarder…looked like a terrible decision given it was a makeable 4th down. But he nailed it dead center and made the 2nd one too. We needed every one of those points.

2) going for it on 4th and 2 down 14 in SECCG. While Saban likely punts there as we still had time for 2 more possessions (and I was furious mainly due to the big picture), DeBoer probably knew from Sankey and inside sources that we weren’t getting left out and tried to maximize the chance to win. He was right, and we were definitely already in.

3) he made the SECCG and playoffs in year 2. People are underestimating how much the extra 1.5 days UGA got to rest/prepare for this game, but we need to see a good showing for OU. While OU had extra rest, they didn’t have that much extra prep since they didn’t know it would be us (and we have 12ish days).

4) recruiting going well

5) coaches like working for the guy

Still plenty to criticize, but thought I’d give him credit where credit is due.

I agree with everything other than "made the playoff" .

One could argue that ND was left out rather than we made it. While I agree we deserved in over them in terms of stats and sos and all of that, we were all shocked and most of us said we dont deserve it after getting railed by UGA.

I have said though that I wont judge him fully until we see Russell at QB. I firmly believe Ty and Milroe are such headcases that theres almost no way to avoid their struggles. Especially without a running game.

We will have 2 highly rated RBs on the roster next season with Dear and Crowell. Theres no excuse next season for getting 3.5 ypc

If Notre Dame wants to bitch about being left out, then they need to get off their high horse and join a conference.

They would've likely played in the ACC Championship Game if they were in the conference.

They are for almost every sport so why are we accommodating them for football?

They could, but they'd be laughed at for good reason because that's bullshite.

We aren't the reason ND was left out.

Bama made the playoff in October. They almost played their way out of it in November is the only knock on Deboer.

Need to win this game so Oklahoma doesn't become "a thing."

His record against the rest of the SEC...you really couldn't ask for much better record wise big picture.

I just want to see some dominating killer instinct...especially on offense.

2. If he knew we weren't getting left out, and I'm sure he did, why didn't he put the other qbs in for a series or two? Wouldn't have hurt, not complaining just think that would have been some excitement.

He did not know - thus, the appeal to injuries after the game and promise that many would be available in the first round.
