If BoB goes to the Patriots, either Saban still thinks he is a good OC or Belichick is a moron.....No sweat to me as long as he isn't in Tuscaloosa.

I think that narrative is because he lacks any innovation or ability to make things easier on his offensive players and mostly relies on match ups to try to win. Saying he is an NFL coach is not really an assessment on good or bad. In regards to the Pats OCs, Brady basically only had Weiss, O'Brien, and McDaniels. Weiss won 3 Super Bowls on the back of the Pats D and it took 6 seasons for McDaniels to win a SB with Brady as an OC. He is a better fit as an NFL OC cause he is good enough to be 6-10 win coach with most rosters but he is never winning a national championship as college OC/HC. As you said he is an atrocious GM.

as bad as BoB is. if i'm no mistaken, every game bama lost the last 2 years, they had the lead late in the game. only to watch the defense play like butter vs a hot knife. unless we develop an offense that can literally score nearly every time they have the ball, we will still see losses with this defense. the saddest part of this whole thing is, this is a defense that saban apparently approves of.
