WTF Tejas hasn't even ridded itself of Barnes yet...
Look out for Crean, he's the early name I heard and I'm assuming that is who Izzo would've recommended to Saban/Battle

They've never actually worked together. Smart just replaced him twice. As an assistant at Florida and as head coach at VCU.

We are all sitting here waiting on baited breath to hear SOMETHING to leak and nothing has on ANY site with multiple insiders who are all Bama all the time...
And all of a sudden one independent source tells Yahoo sports something we probably would've heard 2 days ago if true, and it sounds a lot more concrete than anything that has possibly leaked to us from the FULL TIME INSIDERS OF UA.

Bill Battle really fricked us by not doing this a year ago. He's more worried about his stupid Battle Plan blog. He needs a home run hire here. People are sick of mediocrity in hoops.

Considering someone let out the Greg Marshall info way too early, I'm not surprised they're shutting down inside info.

There was an assumption all week in this thread that Marshall would fit better at Texas than Alabama. This is disappointing, but I don't want our fans to hold out hope for a coach that wants another job. As of right now, seems pretty clear we need to move on to our secondary option. And that excites no one until it's clear who we're after now.

I never trust these "sources" when it comes to the people that write on Yahoo, etc. These writers just make up stuff and pass it off like it's true.

I know Forde is a weak source. I responded to him on Twitter once and had him wanting to meet me at a bar in Tuscaloosa for an interview. I do believe if this were an empty rumor, you would have heard something from BOL or TideSports, but they seem in the dark.

So Coach Greg Marshall goes on national radio, while his team is still in the tourney,and says he's interested in hearing our offer 3 days ago. Today, after his team is out of the tourney, he says "don't even bother".....seems legit

I definitely wouldn't. Don't know why everyone is so opposed to him. He operated at Texas which is a football first school and state. Just like Alabama. He won and he won a lot. Recruited great players. I think what he did at Texas is exactly what we should be looking for at Alabama.

Barnes hasn't been solid in years and his record vs. the top 25 as the season progresses is horrible. That hire would not excite me at all.
