okay, then there's no point in discussing it. All hail Jalen Manning
Um okay? Sorry that i disagreed with you? Not sure why saying that our pass pro hasn't been good struck a chord with you. Weird.

Ever heard of stepping into the pocket?

I have. And we haven't had too many clean ones this season.

It feels a bit like Alabama is playing with house money here. There's absolutely no reason to go out there and be 1 dimensional all damn game.
Why would Tua not play some if Hurts isn't moving the very well?

Agreed.

Tua is so on time with them.

This was definitely the case in the AU game, even though AU'd dbs were all over our wrs. He just is too conservative to even try and throw guys open. It seems like Tua is good at it.

Really, tell us how he is. So far everything he has shared has been pretty accurate. I have seen no reason to doubt him.

The problem with the whole "Bring Tua in if we struggle to pass" is that we'll struggle to pass the minute Jalen steps on the field. He's proven over 27 games that he struggles to pass.
He's not going to go out there and implode either. Over the course of the game he will slowly just not do enough to win. Just like against Auburn, there was never a definitive moment to bench Jalen until it was too late. We have to pick a guy and go with him as the starter.
As for a changeup QB, Jalen makes much more sense in this role to me

Establishing the run and sticking to it when it works would go a long way towards helping any QB. I just think putting tua out there is gonna have Clemson licking their chops. I'm not willing to risk 2 pick 6s and a quick 14-0 deficit. TT was hanging receivers out to dry against Mercer ...Mercer think about that. JH values the football and hurt Clemson with his legs last yr. Daboll just needs to get his head out of his arse and the ol needs to get nasty...Because they're gonna have to bring it.

Tua's been on campus since December, so chances are he knows the playbook well at this point come January.
I wouldn't be surprised to see a few Wildcat style plays where both are in. ULM ran a two QB system a few years back in a similar manner so two or three trick plays wouldn't surprise me if we want to run them.

I fail to see why Tua would be more likely to get pick sixes than Jalen. Tua usually places it extremely well plus he has good touch. He's less likely to throw a screen or short pass that can be picked off than Jalen because we throw downfield more with him and his balls don't hang.
If we throw it more and stop running a Blake Sims "Throw it to Cooper" type offense with Ridley are we going to have a higher risk of a pick? Sure, but if we commit to the run we're risking more fumbles.

Are you new to Saban ball? Two QBs at the same time wouldn't surprise you? I'd be absolutely floored

Also what's this whole deal about Tua being a pick machine? Wtf?
He's thrown 8 TDs to 1 INT on the year, with 66% completion, and a 187 QBR
Keep in mind the lone pick came after driving the offense the length of the field, and wasn't a bad read - just a rare bad throw. It happens to every QB

And that's the whole point, TT can throw caution to wind when up 31-0.... Haven't seen him in tense situations. Jh has flaws but has found a way...That's mental toughness. The one thing that gives me comfort is this offense has been way less careless with the ball, so maybe it wouldn't matter who the QB is. It is just my opinion that u don't throw TT in against one of the best defensive units in CFB. It would be a feeding frenzy I'm afraid

Yeah Jalen has that mental toughness against mediocre teams. As soon as he plays a good defense he panics and the rest of the team has to bail him out a lot of times. I'm NOT hating on Jalen at all. I've supported him more than most. But he's struggled against basically every good defense we've played and we're about to face one of the best defenses in college football with a national title spot on the line. You've got to take chances sometimes. That's why I'm saying it would be nice to have Tua ready.

A feeding frenzy is what it was vs Auburn with Jalen out there. I've never seen our QB look so anemic and incapable of performing essential functions of our offense, and when the pressure was on, he played even MORE poorly.
The whole myth of Mr. Clutch was 100% debunked vs Auburn
