These guys can't go back to the school that sues them. How would that even work out? You gotta come back even though you don't want to be here.

It’s a lot like before when a guy couldn’t jump ship every year. You might not be happy at your school, but you tried to get onto the field, and then you did the best you could in order to get to the NFL.

The guy could deliberately tank himself, but what would be the benefit of that long term?

I would think a player that wanted to leave and was made to come back would not give his everything, kinda like a disgruntled employee.

KDB must have taken the helicopter so that he can get back to Tuscaloosa more quickly to spend time with Jayvin

It seems that this staff likes to recruit long, rangy athletes on the DL (typically guys that play edge in high school) and have them grow into DTs once on campus. Similar to Jeremiah Beaman. In addition to Franklin, I could see Nolan Wilson ending up playing inside as well.

If you're not going to spend huge money on your DL this is probably the best way to build one otherwise. Sign some guys who have marginal twitchiness and bend for edge rushers but would be very athletic interior linemen, put weight on them, and see who maintains his athletic ability. The downside is that it takes time, and you're lucky to get more than 2 years with any player these days.
