I see that a center from Michigan is coming in for a visit tomorrow.

Huff would be a good hire. His player development track record is solid and he knows what kind of blocking scheme DeBoer wants. I don't think a college position coach job is anywhere close to enough to entice me out of a similar NFL job. Worse hours, recruiting and NIL bullshite, you lose your spot in the NFL coaching club that will keep you employed for 30 years even if you suck, etc.

Are we sure Huff would leave NFL?

Probably right on that. I'm hoping his relationship with Grubb and Deboer is enough to entice him. I'm sure they would give him a title too.

He is the TE coach for the Rams. Huff that is.

Huff was making like $850K at Washington. I doubt he is making half that as the Rams TE coach. Maybe a a third of that. If we brought him in and gave him a co-OC title (Sheridan is gone so it's possible), I'd think he'd probably be earning at least $850K, possibly up to $1 million. Hard to imagine he wouldn't take that.
But yes, college coaching is becoming a burden that many guys would rather not deal with. I don't know that Huff is elevated enough in the coaching ranks right now to where he can demand equal pay in the NFL that he could in college as an assistant.
My assumption when we brought him on initially and then he backed out was that he just wanted to stay in Seattle and stay settled with family, etc. That has gone out the window now.

Huff was fired after one year in the NFL as an OL coach. He is now a TE coach.

That last point is big. The man went from college to NFL, got terminated for performance after one season, yet he landed on his feet as TE coach for a playoff team with a credible shot of winning it all.

You guys want an OL coach? How about a guy who coached some pretty good OLs at Michigan under Harbaugh?
SHERRONE MOORE!
He's available too (assuming he's not going to jail)

I don’t care where he’s at in the portal rankings, Kaden Strayhorn can help Bama. Plays with that nastiness you want from your OL. Quality mover. Lack of length (only 6-2) probably hurt his ranking coming out of HS, but similar length and ranking to Brailsford. Plus, he’s already 20lbs. heavier.
His relationship with Michael Carroll would be beneficial. It’d be awesome if Carroll ended up at OG right next to him. Can already see “The Bash Brothers” label. Lol

I don’t know how much Huff is being paid but apparently the salary range is between $300,000 and $1million. I would guess he’s getting around $500,000.

He's not going to jail. His level of income and prominence in the community, a victim who is very unlikely to want him incarcerated, and the unspoken desire of Michigan to have it all go away quickly, quietly, and painlessly will probably afford him the ability to proactively get mental health treatment, claim that prison will undo all the progress he has made, blah blah blah and it'll be probation and various requirements to take anger management and domestic violence classes. People like him only actually end up in prison if they kill someone, and even then it's not a guarantee. See Little, Leonard.

Must mean we're out on that Texas State C and that also means Brailsford is all but gone to the league.

If he comes, he should consider renting.
