Again, I did not say “8 lineman on scholarship”. I said 8 that you concentrate the bulk of your money towards.

You would do this with the top 50 players on the roster with 35 of those 50 (the ones actually on the field that decide if you win or lose the game or not) should get the bulk (90%) of the NIL Funds.

You would still have 85 scholarship players but the bottom 40 would all be guys there on scholarship only (no NIL allotment outside of what they can create on their own). Spending money to have 5 RB’s and 7 Guards in just not feasible IF you want to match talent with what the top5 teams in NIL are fielding.

You would have to decide if you would want 1 Bryce Young with a Brandon Avalon backup or if you would you prefer to have 5 scholarship QBs who are all solid recruits that may or may not make it…..

Would you rather have a steep dropoff if injuries do occur, or would you prefer to not have very far to fall to begin with?

Bingo

The schools who catch onto this first and sellout to this philosophy with have an advantage (like analytics or “Moneyball” in baseball) until everyone else catches on and does the same….then a 1st round talent will cost 10 million at that point

I meant to injury…..my point-being that having 5 RBs is not necessary. I’d rather have a 1st team All-SEC RB with a guy like Mitchell backing him up and a TF like Crowell coming in.

The days of trying to have a quality player to fill every scholarship spot is over if you are Alabama and want to be on an even playing field with Texas, Miami, Ohio State, etc….give me Bryce Young with Brandon Avalos as his backup and if he gets hurt, well that’s just the way it is, but if he doesn’t…..

Cig might be dealing with 5 pricks on his roster but not 52.

Yeah when you get a league check it's different than when you're getting NIL with possibly no league future.

Or maybe the kid can play and fits our schemes. Look if some of you want to be miserable all the time then maybe yall should find another hobby. I can’t imagine following something if it makes me miserable all the time.

Obviously that’s correct.

As far as the feds are concerned this is the NFL. Absent unlimited resources we have to allocate what we have as efficiently as possibly and frankly there’s going to be a major drop off in terms of money and/or experience in CFB past that top group.

Everything else is developmental or depth, but we agree we need 10-15 total players across C, IOL and Tackle total.

Sounds like a selfish jerk honestly. Hard to imagine Sark managing
Arch, Seaton, Hollywood and Cam Coleman all in the same huddle. Sounds like a recipe for disaster and booze

Yes, 15 total, but the best 7 would be the most expensive/best 7 I could afford and the other 8 would just be guys thankful to be on scholarship.
