Our 2 deep seems pretty solid but the depth is a major issue. Honestly, bringing in guys you've never heard of out of G6 and FCS may be just what the doctor ordered. Get some experienced guys to fall back on when injuries or disqualifications dictate it.

There is only so much money to go around. They have to concentrate on the areas of greatest need (both LOS).
Bama plays with 3 WR’s on the field in 88.4% of their snaps:
- Ryan Williams
- L. Brooks
- Noah Rogers
- Rico Scott
- Cederian Morgan
- Derek Meadows
Plus the 2-3 others brought in for depth.
The staff brought in Cam Coleman, so they did try to get a “big name” at the position. I think the staff did a good job budgeting their money to meet their needs, and I personally do not think WR was that high on the list compared to OL/DL imo

This is not exactly true. The staff did try and are still trying to land at least one more WR. We simply aren’t going to pay $2 million (or more) for a WR. That’s not to say there aren’t still some good ones out there that can be had for a good bit less (there are).
I’d be very happy if that WR from Yale (Yes, Yale) came. 70 receptions in one season is impressive no matter what level of competition. One thing that stuck out to me with the Yale kid is he’s got balls the size of tractor trailers. Dude is not all afraid of contact and will fight to come down with the ball. He would be a huge addition.

Indiana has one of the best throw games in the CFP and their WR corp has maybe one sure top 3 rounds type of player.
I truly believe that WR is a position where you can find production and value out of the G6 and FCS. A lot of NFL teams have put productive passing attacks on the field with mid-tier prospects or even guys from the FCS. I think Green Bay went maybe two decades without drafting a WR in the first round and they've routinely been a good passing offense.
I've been encouraged that our staff has offered a few guys from the lower subdivision who seem like they have good production. They're probably thinking the same thing. You're probably spending most of your WR money on the top 3, a bit less on the prospects, and should be finding value for the rest.

Awesome. Do they succeed much?
No. I believe Tidesaint is the moderator. He seems pretty chill. If you get booted out of here, you deserve it

What’s the story with this kid? He seems like a good athlete. Bad grades, late bloomer?

Sarratt and Becker both have 1st round talent imho.

So, not winning a National Championship in a 12 Team Playoff would be a failure of a season? I just want them to improve (especially Offensively). If they went 10-2, won the SECCG, and then proceeded to lose after winning 2 playoff games, you wouldn’t consider that a successful season? I don’t think there are many fans out there (of any team) that have expectations of “National Title or Bust”. I just want to see the offense look functional…..I don’t consider that “setting myself of for failure”.
Think you misread my posts. Given the 1st year starter, I would consider it a successful season to win even 1 playoff game, similar to what we did this year with…wait for it…a 1st year starter.
Most posters were not satisfied with the results this year and will likely not consider it a successful season if we lose our 2nd playoff game next season. Will you be satisfied if we go 1-1 in the playoffs next year?

1st year starter.
Eventually you have to buck this trend. You can't sustain any kind of success with 1st year starters despite their age or how long they been in the program. Mack is going to make 1st year mistakes next year. Keelon will make them the next year. Then after Keelon plays two years, Alabama will have another 1st year starter. Gotta either hit the portal or start a freshman and try to keep him upright for three seasons.

Wrong. I was kicked out and absolutely did not deserve it. I was a true victim of cancel culture and mob mentality. I came in after Saban retired and did have chicken little syndrome with the transfers happening. All I did was post about said transfers and the number of players on the roster where A Day was concerned. I was immediately portrayed as a troll and a few began the campaign to have me booted which led to the masses jumping onboard. Before I could make my case I was expelled. I came here to discuss what was happening and hopefully read some input that would have “talked me off the ledge” but I didn’t get that, only ridicule and exiled.

Exactly, or at the very least, play a guy for 2 years each time alternating a 1st year starter and a 2nd year starter. You’d at least have an opportunity to compete for a NC in 50% of the seasons.
The roster is shaping up nicely other than young QB and young OL (assuming we get depth at WR). However we will have a ceiling this year whether people want to admit it or not. Hopefully we can keep whoever starts this year and make a run at it next year.

What difference does that make? Is this your attempt to belittle me to diminish what I said?

Nah. I refuse to go into next season believing we have zero chance to win it all. Our chances to win a title next year have way more to do with how our rebuilt trenches play than whether our QB is starting for the first time. If you think we have no shot before even seeing the 2026 version of Bama play then why even watch?

That’s already been covered in this thread. Anyone who would stop watching their team once they’ve lost the chance at a NC is the very definition of a fair weather fan. I’m not one of those (I traveled to every game in the 7-5 Franchione year while in college, home, away, and freezing bowl game against Seneca Wallace…NC’s are great, but the lack of it won’t make me stop watching).
Believe what you want. I just prefer to be grounded in reality and the reality is that the Mac Jones 2020 season isn’t going to be repeated anytime soon given how things have changed. Be angry, downvote, call names or whatever else some of these posters want to do, but it won’t change reality.

No it was an attempt to bring a little levity to your incredibly serious post about being banned from an online message board.

Seriously? That's pretty overdramatic don't you think? It's just a message board man. Don't let it hurt your feelings so badly.
