Disagree completely. An edge rusher who can get you ten sacks per season (or more) is worth big $$$. Currently, we have Pierre who is pretty good but definitely not great either.

Yes, an edge rusher who can get you ten or more sacks per season is worth big money. We're talking about Jordan Ross though.

There is no clearing house any more. Three schools suck as Texas Tech and o think Indiana refused to sign so the agreement that the other schools signed off on is null and void. Heard that from a lawyer on radio.

What they were talking about is the CSC(college sports commission) which is supposed to enforce programs adhering to the new clearinghouse system for third party deals has not been signed by all schools including Texas Tech. The clearinghouse is still in place and none of it has anything to do with what a school can directly pay athletes.

There was a post of what "supposedly" each program is spending on NIL but the thing is, I highly doubt anyone definitively knows the exact amounts involved for every school. I believe they're just educated guesses or rumors, .Maybe close but exact to the last dollar, I highly doubt it.

It tiring to see people freak out about our NIL spending when it is clear by recruiting and retention that we are hardly paupers and probably a top 10 spender on roster payroll in all of college football.

Alabama has been very hesitant of blowing out their budget on transfers to date. That is more of a strategy thing that may be partly informed by a tighter budget than the very top spenders. However, I think it is more predicated on the belief that in the long run programs that invest in players out of high school will have more consistent success than the ones trying to rebuild their entire roster every offseason. In the early days of the NIL era, that has mostly been true. This is the first year where it is more debatable.

Staff seems to love some TEs

I really don't understand this staff's strategy at the TE position.

They want a TE for every type of situation.

Maybe we're lining up strictly in 14 personnel next year

#81 looks the part but he really didn't bring much to the table this year. He dropped more than he caught and his blocking was worse.

Not giving up hope here. Tight End is a really tough position to play. I'll never expect much from a true freshman there.

It is an indictment on our TE room that we've got 7 or 8 of them and he was second on the depth chart.

Outbid for a guy with 1.5 career sacks in two seasons.

He was in there only because 87 couldn't stay healthy. He needs a lot of time in the weight room. He's still young and capable.
