Could be a negotiation tactic. They can with draw from the portal.

Let the Keelon vs Austin debate begin.

We have never had a spring camp in my lifetime like we're about to have in Tuscaloosa.

Gonna need a lot of name tags in the position rooms for sure.

Personally I’m going to check out for a few days and hope for the best but this is uncharted territory for sure.

We basically expect it now with Oats and the basketball team, we just have to accept that’s how football works now too and trust the staff and boosters to go get what we need for next year.

The difference being Nate has proven he knows what the hell he’s doing in the portal and with high school recruiting. He goes and gets the pieces he wants and needs to make his system work.
The football staff still looks like they are just throwing shite against the wall to see what sticks. Then they take the pieces, throw it all in a big pot and see what kind of stew they can cook up. We seem to be good at picking up receivers and tight ends and secondary but are struggling to find the correct big uglies and RB’s.

You just described modern CFP for basically every team in the nation.

OSU just lost their skill players.
LSU lost their OL and 30+ players

RB’s

Optimistic with the transfer and incoming freshman to go with Hill

correct big uglies

This is what will make or break us IMO along with QB now that Ty is officially gone.

You cannot run this offensive system without quality to elite QB play. When the QB is on we're very tough to stop even without an OL.

Without a QB it looks like a dark comedy.

If we get an average to good OL to go with a QB and maintain our defense at the level from last year we're a NC team.

Huh? We seem to be strategically signing guys who not only fit holes in our roster but who also fit our scheme.

I think were better off with either.

Ty just felt awkward back there.

You are correct but why did it take this long to figure out we didn’t have a damn soul on the OL besides Brailsford that could do what they wanted to do? Same thing in the backfield. They saw these kids every day in practice all last year but we had to suffer through probably one of the worst OL in program history this season before someone said this ain’t gonna work.
Womack has done pretty good with what he has, we’re just short on bodies on that side of the ball. We need a few more so injuries don’t devastate the DL/LB positions.
I’m not bitching about what we’ve done so far in the portal, I’m bitching because it took this long to address a glaring need.

I was going to school to be an engineer that works for a multimillion dollar company…an actual contributor to society, and I succeeded. How about you? Were you bleeding your heart out for welfare recipients like you are a kid that will either play pro football or sell insurance?

Interesting site I came across as everyone has wondered about NIL rosters. This site show Alabama 10th on our estimated roster only ahead of the two g6 teams that made the playoffs.
