I'm just saying. I brought that pass up a few weeks ago and got blasted on here because the pass wasn't a fricking perfect spiral. Doesn't matter that it was perfectly placed.

He can place it perfectly anywhere on the field spiral or not due to his timing, feel and height.

Also he will be able to throw the ball basically on a flat plain to Meadows and no DB could touch it. Special are the times to come.

Agree - this does not seem to be anywhere close to a Tua situation where the staff felt good about him. The staff doesn't seem to think that any of the backups are right there with Jalen at this point.

You could tell they were giddy to get Tua in there. Every other backup in the Saban era was given the most milquetoast assignment. Even Bryce had only 11 throws all 2020 and we kicked the shite out of folks all year. For Tua, they had a whole arse offense and he was allowed to let it rip in conference games

We’ve never gotten that excitement for Simpson. That doesn’t mean Ty can’t be better than Milroe. But Tua is in a different stratosphere in terms of backups and the only time before Milroe that you could argue that Saban made a mistake at QB

Perfectly placed AND a spiral you say?

I continue to believe our best gameplan with Milroe is the one we used against Auburn.

- very few read options ---- designed RB runs and designed QB powers/counters only
- lots of motion with lots of short throws to backs and tight ends (he seems much more comfortable with those throws than wide short throws on slants/stops/outs)
- take shots down the field at opportune times (2nd and short, quick change)
- Swing passes, no WR screen passes

He's still gonna make you want to punch the wall, but you have to pick the option that gives him/us the best chance to be explosive and efficient and the lowest risk of implosion. And you have to have a "don't lose the game" option at the ready if it's clear after 2 drives that whatever the defense is presenting vs your plan is making him lose his mind.

It is not an easy job for the OC. At all.

The man is a walking enigma. He made 3-4 throws on Saturday that couldn't have been walked and placed in the WRs hands any better.

- Long throw that Ryan dropped
- Throw to Germie on the free play after the offsides down the sideline
- Throw to the boundary to Germie on a huge 3rd down on the drive that iced the game

Then on the flip side he ignores wide open outlet options to throw it out of bounds, runs into the only defender on the entire left side of the field when he could have sprinted to the boundary, gotten a first down and probably gotten 30 yards only to fumble instead.

The man can literally be the best player on the field or a player who you cannot win a football game with at QB. And he can shift between those guys literally play to play.

Uh Bama should be in the not likely category. If Oregon, Texas or maybe even Georgia doesn’t win this thing they severely crapped the bed.

That was a great pass. No doubt. Not disagreeing with you.
Milroe is a 4th year player. Second year starter.
Now do the eleventy ints he's thrown since that pass.

Frankly, I don't even have a "most likely" there. Oregon is probably there by default at this point. Texas can enter it if they handle Georgia on Saturday, but to this point what have they done to prove they can beat 3 straight Top 10 teams? They haven't even beaten 1 yet.

Then below that are a bunch of teams whose best is good enough to beat anymore and whose worst is good enough to lose to a 7-5/6-6 team.

we already know the answer. this staff will continue to win and lose with milroe, regardless of how bad he plays. cant bring in any backup that would prove how bad milroe really is at playing the qb position nor show how idiotic it is for the staff to marry themselves to him without any thought to how bad he plays

I don't disagree. He's from a little town of about 6000 in the foothills called Loomis. There's a highschool there named Del Oro. Folsom high is a power in 1A and about a 25 minute drive from Loomis. Mack played at Folsom for a reason.

Because there were blowouts galore and it was fairly common knowledge then and established fact now that Tua was threatening at almost every turn to transfer if he didn't get more playing time.

Well this season, it's fairly common knowledge that locker room politics has kept an extraordinarily bad quarterback under center, when we're known to have better options, and we're known to have better options because there's just no way at all any of us could possibly believe we have three quarterbacks behind Jalen Milroe that are worse than him.

I think the calculus changes somewhat in the playoffs and makes it more likely, but I also think it's clear they just don't think Ty brings anything better to the table than what Jalen does.

Ty is an exceptional runner and a natural leader. I think he is tied for second for best QB on the team. I think if he goes in the portal and Riley goes to UCF he wins a title there. It will take us a minute to sort out Mack and Russell.

Thanks for the agreement Roll Tide 33, I thought I was alone. I don't know why it is so distressing for some.

No go, Riley not good with pocket passers and is terrified of SEC. Plus his BBQ is shite so he couldn't make it any way.
