Not directed at you Boz...

Here's the deal (Imo) with Tua vs Jalen :
Tua has the better arm, and its not even close.
Tua has a extremely quick release and has shown to be more accurate in his limited playing time than Jalen.
Tua has also shown to be able to progress thru his reads faster.
So with that said, had Tua been in the game how would Bama attack offensively?
Quick throws to the outside. Bama did with JH however JH is slow, very slow in getting the ball to receivers..which allows the d to react faster and gain ground. Tua otoh zips it on a rope, in front of the receiver which allows the wr to see what's coming a lot quicker and make his cuts. When you have a qb that can get the ball to a wr on the edge, the db has to tighten up coverage. Then that's when other routes start opening up and then also opens up the run game. With JH throwing, dbs can give more cushion because they know they can gain ground due to slow mechanics/release.
Again, jmo.

It all depends on if Tua is as advertised or not - he will play a lot in the early games, start at least one of them in my mind - and the decision will be made. Not sure who our opening game is at the moment

@Huddie I grabbed the wrong comment, to lazy to fix.

Offense issue sounds like lack of "good" leadership on that side of the ball. Nobody else has sustained the same success Saban has at Alabama. Look what the closest team in talent is doing. 3 blowout loses in the last 12 months.

You think Julio Jones would have quit on the team or acted the same way as Ridley? Hell he broke his during the first half of a game, finished the game, had surgery, and played that next Saturday with a plate in his hand.

Julio did all right for himself at the next level.

Considering the tension they've had since fall practice, I'd be shocked if it wasn't CR VS RH last night.

Assuming RH is Ronnie Harrison, Harrison would crush Ridley.

Starting Jalen next year wouldn’t be risky. It would be forfeiting another title. Saban’s cautions but not stupid

Yep Julio and amari have done alright and never showed their arse while they played for us. If all this is true with Ridley then it's good he's able to leave this year and head to NFL.

I don't think you'll have to worry about that because I am pretty sure that Tagovailoa would already have transferred long before then.

Doesn't matter. Whoever the backup is. Give him some meaningful snaps in meaningful games.

Apparently there's at least one poster who thinks Bryant didn't know what he was doing.

I am hoping that Hurts started this year to give Tua time to mature. Hurts hasn't been awful and has actually shown flashes of brilliance at times. He is certainly not a liability so why not give Tua a year to ripen.
Hopefully Tua can fit into our fat-assed o coordinator's schemes because he sure as shite doesn't seem to be able to adapt his plays to his QBs skills.

Would have given my right arm for Kiffen's last night.

I think part of the problem is no alpha dogs on offense either. The team rallied around Jalen the young freshman and we did ok. This year, I think a lot of guys looked at him to be a leader and Jalen is the same quiet guy he was last year. He isn’t inspiring people and he’s not occasionally putting his foot up the arse of an OL who missed a block. The lack of a vocal leader has been detrimental.

I have a hard time believing he walked back, maybe a jog with a lack of pep in the step... but no way did he walk back..

Yes he did. 2:26:06 HE WAS WALKING TO THE LOS. Trust me the entire team on the sideline watched him do it. Which, is part of the reason he got called out in the locker room after he showed his arse.

What has our fan base become? Buying into rumors with no factual evidence to bash one of our best players.

If this had any legs Calvin would be dealt with by Saban. WR has insane depth. Instead he remains as our primary pass catcher.

Some of you need to go outside more.

Ridley's talent has been wasted the last two years. Probably why he told his little brother and Jeudy not to come to Bama.

All that WR talent that has been wasted the last two years, surprised any WR would want to come play for Bama.

Wasted a ton of RB talent this year as well, probably why Bama is missing out on RB in recruiting this year.

Tua and Saban will have at least one good sit down, and discuss it as to where Tua stands. You have to figure that Saban will be honest with the kid, and if Hurts will be the starter going into the first game, I figure Tagovailoa will transfer before the season. Heck, for that matter, Barnett transferred after the 3rd or 4th game last year, and he was granted eligibility for the entire 2017 season. That's the way things are trending anyway.

For the record, I don't think that's going to happen. As I have already said, I think Tua will be the starter next season.

If this shakes out and Jalen is the QB next year, we'll be watching highlights of Tua lighting it up for Chip Kelly at UCLA.

The WR recruiting is actually pretty accurate. Ross said his favorite thing with clemson is how they pass it to a bunch of guys, and Alabama doesn't.

RB recruiting is likely because we are stacked here.
