Looking at who we have leaving on defense. Which is where my concerns are.
Dl- Q Williams
Dbs- Thompson, Smith

Is that it? If so we arent losing much. Relax. (Telling myself that).

It might not be many but when your best 2 def players are the jrs that are leaving is what hurts.

I am holding out hope that Jennings stays. I would love to have some leadership on the line.

We have someone step up every year, but I definitely think the defense is setting up more for 2020

Guys will step up. Nobody thought Q would be what he is right now last year and Thompson didnt end out as good as he started.

Q Williams counts as 3 players, at least.

Who do you guys think gets the starting position at MLB next to Dylan Moses? Chris Allen or Ale Kaho?

I like that Allen has elite size but is he athletic enough to play inside? I am not saying he is slow or anything but he primarily played outside plus he had an injury. My guess is that Kaho plus a couple of true freshmen will battle for Mike linebacker.

Anyone else think Alfano will contribute immediately next season? He's definitely not your typical incoming freshman, or even your typical 5*.

Of course Alfano will contribute immediately. He is already physically ready for major college football and may be first off the bench assuming Davis and Ray start at end. He could play inside if needed but I think he starts on the outside.

I look forward to spring drills. It would be great to read that newcomers were pushing starters or have taken their spots. (defense or offense). There is nobody on defense that is great.
