If this is more akin to the feedback some of our guys are hearing it makes the possibility of returns a whole lot more realistic sounding

PFF Mock Draft

8. Jerry Jeudy, WR (Jaguars)
9. Alex Leatherwood, OT (Jets)
10. Jedrick Wills, OT (Chargers)
13. Trevon Diggs, CB (Bucs)
27. Tua Tagovailoa, QB (Packers)
30. Henry Ruggs, WR (Saints)

quote:

27. GREEN BAY PACKERS – QB TUA TAGOVAILOA, ALABAMA

Tua’s slide ends in poetic fashion. Fifteen years after the Packers tabbed Aaron Rodgers as their heir apparent to Brett Favre, they get their QB of the future to develop once again. With how serious and unknown Tua’s medical situation is, it’s difficult to see anyone taking a risk on him early on in the draft.

Tua at the end of the 1st, Ruggs barely in the 1st, no Moses, no Smith.

Ruggs is the exact type of player that the saints need. Michael Thomas, if he can keep this pace, will rival Larry Fitzgerald as the best possession receiver of all time. If they can add a receiver that can operate over the middle, but is also one of the fastest players in the NFL, I'm just not sure how a defense can really contend with that.

That said, John Ross went in the top 10. I'll be shocked if Ruggs runs any slower than a 4.35, therefore I really don't see him falling that far down the board. You can't teach what Henry can do.

Jeudy going to Jacksonville wouldn't be a bad spot for him either. That would allow him to work out of the slot which is really his natural position and the one he's been playing for 3 years. They might be content with their WR corps though. Chark, Westbrook, Conley are all young players and all pretty good in their own right

The problem is not that Ruggs is not a 1st rd pick but the draft is very deep for WRs and many teams think they can still get a top WR even in the 2nd rd.

Jeudy, Lamb, Higgins, Shenault, and T Johnson seem to be ahead of him on the boards right now. Then guys with size like Pittman Jr, Surratt, C Johnson, and even the kid from Liberty Gandy-Goldman are starting to move and the combine could be huge. Yes it seems many like his speed but teams are thinking they might be able to snag him in the 2nd round due to how deep the draft is in WRs and other needed position teams need to fill.

The world isn't ready for how passive aggressive Aaron Rodgers would be about this

That right there may be enough to get a Hawaiian to return to school. I can not imagine a winter in Wisc would trigger happy images for him

If Ruggs runs a 4.3 he's going to go in the first round.

I am no insider by any means and to be honest I could not tell you the last NFL game I have watched. Doubt it has been in the last 10 years and probably longer as that game does nothing for me. So again I do not follow the league or the news around it so my information is limited on what I get.

However I do play in a monthly poker game I travel to that two of the guys are former NFL players and both are now scouts for the previous teams they played for. The word this past Saturday, as I love to bug them this time of year regarding UA players, is yes Ruggs is expected to be one of the fastest guys at the combine but not one of the top 3 or 4 WRs coming out. The draft is deep and other positions are high priority for many teams. Now that could all change based on bowl and combine performances along with what teams do in regards to trades and free agency this spring. But many think they can still grab him late in the 1st rd maybe even 2nd and with the depth of the draft at WR why Smith is looking like 2nd rd.

Just passing along what I heard.

Does this mean that Lia transfers to Wisconsin? I mean there was a rumor.

There's a guy in the RBR comments who is absolutely convinced of this. He presents it like he heard it from Lia and Galu himself that the day after the draft Lia will be in the portal to the nearest power 5 school close to where Tua gets drafted.

You’re not wrong about that. Been to Whisky in the winter months. It’s brutally cold.

He hasn't done shite in 2019.He looks the part but it ends there. Diggs is an offensive player (receiver) playing defense.

While I'm a Falcons fan, I'd hate to see Tua go there as he'd get killed behind that offensive line. I'd like to see him go to New England and learn behind Brady for a year or so...

Could be wrong but if Ruggs runs a sub-4.3, I think he goes in the top 15 regardless of the abundance of talent at WR. Unlike a lot of speed WRs I've seen drafted highly in past drafts, I think Ruggs is a pretty solid WR aside from his speed...

If Smith ends up declaring, a team getting him in the second or later rounds will be getting a steal. Great hands, great route runner, decent speed, and is not afraid to block...

Any draft with Diggs in then 1st Rd can't be taken seriously

I still contend that we are basing our opinions of Diggs on the LSU game(I say "we" because my opinion swayed that way regarding him as well, but after some reflection, I think I've changed my mind.)

LSU made everyone's DBs look silly this year.

I am almost positive that before the LSU game, everyone on here was very high on Diggs.

From the article:

quote:

He allowed only 22 catches on 52 targets with nearly half of those yards(did they mean catches right here?) coming in one game against LSU.

I don't have anymore in-depth, pff-type metrics on Diggs from this past season, but I want to say that we are being way too hard on Diggs. Maybe someone like SoG can shed some light on this.

According to PFF, he gave up 1 reception after the LSU game. He was on their 1st All American list.

I know he graded well in other games, but he was abused badly against LSU. I think he's insanely talented and still really raw as a DB. That doesn't show up very often but against a team like LSU with those receivers, that scheme and that QB, if you aren't technically perfect you are going to get beat. And he got beat a lot.

But, he's too talented and has played well enough too often to not get drafted high. I truly just think he's still really inexperienced compared to others. It's almost a testament to how talented he is that it only showed up against LSU.

Both 2 and 7 looked like Ned in the 1st reader vs the Barn.
