What was the context of that conversation?
Iirc, he was responding to a press conference question regarding lack of progress in his 3rd season as HC. I got the impression Pruitt won't lose any sleep over it if UT wants to part ways.

Former Auburn DL great Tracy Rocker, who won the Outland and Lombardi Trophies, is in the mix to return to the Tigers staff under new HC Bryan Harsin, per source. The South Carolina DL coach was the Tigers D-line coach when they won the national title.

Looks like Zamir White is returning to UGA. Kirby has done probably his best recruiting job getting a number of very important draft eligible players to come back.
Obviously they are title contenders but I think the key piece coming back was James Cooks with his experience, speed and ability to catch out the backfield. They have a lot of weapons but I feel like he is the straw that stirs the drink. If he would have left I still expected Kirby, Monken and JT to figure out how to lose a few. Still might.

I think Kirby probably senses that 2021 is pretty much make or break for him. The magnitude of their game with Clemson in the opener really can't be understated. Clemson has lost a little bit of their shine the last couple of years after getting skullfricked in the playoffs and they need to get it back to maintain their annual presence in the championship conversation. UGA is trying to take that spot from them. Both can't have their way.

We will see. They will still need to replace some people on defense. They will obviously overwhelm the less talented teams but they still have to prove themselves against the best. I feel like if they do not succeed it is likely because on offense they had the talent and not the scheme or on defense they had the scheme but some of talent wasn't there yet.
