Gus does just enough to make swallowing that buyout unacceptable. As much as barner fans around my neighborhood would be more than happy to fall on their sword and be done with him, Kevin Steel and the gang just keep on rebounding. It would be so Barner-like to get the best of Jimbo in Jordan Hare.

Yep. Based on his contract I really don't see how they will be able to fire him before the end of the 2022 season unless they just completely shite the bed next year. Like a 3-9/4-8 kind of implosion. They don't just have to pay him over $20 million if they fire him. They have to front half of it within 30 days of his termination. There's no way there's a strong enough desire to be rid of him among the big money peoole that they can get that kind of cash together in a few weeks. Their fans are just trying to numb the pain by discussing his job security at this point.

How many guys can coach one of the most talented barner teams right out of the playoffs and finish that season with a rematch lost to Georgia and powerhouse UCF in a bowl and still get a 7 year, 49-million dollar payday out of it?
The barner boosters are at legendary status after that one.

12th: UA-Ar, Au-MS, Ga-Mo, LS-UF, OM-A&M, UT-V

So the Liberty - Coastal Carolina game got canceled due to COVID issues at Liberty, so BYU is going to play Coastal Carolina on Saturday instead.
