Mississippi Governor is issuing a stay-at-home order for the entire state of Mississippi. Not sure exactly what all it will include as far as when a person can leave.

The latest projections for the state put the peak of the outbreak at the end of this month.

This is going to be interesting in that while obviously tragic, New York will have gone through their curve more steeply and quickly than Alabama. I wonder how that will relate to them getting back "to normal" versus those areas of the country with a flatter curve?

Google searches for "I can't smell" appear to predict covid-19 cases. This could help predict hotspots.

I'm pretty convinced the "I Can't Smell" search data is picking up a high signal of actual cases. I independently looked at same thing. The R^2 with positive tests per capita is 0.86.

That's a great talking point. But did Cuomo turn Remington down? If he accepted their offer, then what's the story? That be ordered some from China and now they're delayed? How long will it take for Remington to get a ventilator manufacturing facility up and running? Can they do so before the delayed ventilators arrive? I don't know the answer to any of those questions, but they seem relevant to Ms. Huckabee's criticism.

That picture of Cuomo is haunting. Thanks so much for that.

This stuff about ventilators is becoming too much a political "gotcha" talking point.

Cuomo, for all that I don't like about him, has been hardcore on the "the USA has to produce more ventilators" from at least the time we were still watching the last college basketball games being played.

If Remington or any company has ventilators available quickly I'm certain they will have very little trouble moving them to save lives.

Remington offered to make ventilators and other medical supplies at a closed facility in New York last Monday. LINK That facility is a long way from producing anything. The only other thing I was able to find was that people who followed up with Remington haven't heard back. Hopefully they get that space up and running.

Here in Bay County, FL we’ve processed 151 tests and 13 have come back positive: 12 residents and 1 non-resident. That’s a little under 9% positives. What are you guys getting in Alabama?

ETA: Florida up to 7773 cases and 101 deaths. That’s 1032 new cases today and 16 new deaths.

It’s at least 14.3% in Alabama. I say at least because the number of tests get added to the total while they wait for the results.

Let me add this: if you have any reason to believe you have the disease and are feeling sick, YOUR SURVIVAL DEPENDS ON GETTING TREATMENT FAST!!! . . . ACT IMMEDIATELY! DON"T TAKE NO FOR AN ANSWER!

That's terrifying for NYC where it that means waiting 48-60 hours in a hospital hallway unless you are already in ICU necessary condition.

They need to start turning places like Madison Square Garden, and other places that aren’t being used ,into medical facilities. Seems like that would be a better option that tents

They've been and are turning a lot of city buildings into makeshift hospitals.

The tents are staging areas because so many people are turning up at the hospitals that there is literally no room in hallways and entry areas.
