On the flip side there is growing support among those that matter, that if he doesn't do something like that, there is little chance he keeps the job.

This is a depth player at best right now. We will be the third team he has been on if he commits and 3 years left to play.

Come on man. These two guys have more money than almost anyone in the country for NIL and Cristobal lost to SMU & Louisville, and Lanning got blown out just like Alabama did with a much better roster than Alabama! Kirby Smart and Cignetti are the only two coaches heads and shoulders above the rest of the country currently. Neither of those guys are coming here, and there isnt another coach in the country that doesnt have a few shitty loses and blowouts on their resume to put them above CKD.

Yep. Thats what quite a few on this board deserves. They think Alabama was stacked with talent like it was 2020 again when Saban left. They dont listen to facts about how 70 plus guys have left Alabama since Saban and about 5 of them have actually had a real impact other places. They think we should get the top tranfer talent in the country because of our "prestige" and facilities and just completely ignore the reality of our money situation compared to a lot of these other schools. A lot of these posters bitching like that are very similar to Roll Tide Willie to be honest though.
I'm kinda looking forward to CKD leaving and winning a Natty elsewhere and Alabama hiring Golding and him pulling a Sherrone Moore and getting fired.

Gotta be tough for Georgia to have an exact replication of the 2010s Alabama poised to dominate the sport as soon as Saban retires then the rest of the nation changes all the rules out from under them and they’ll never actually do it.

I think what Cig has pulled off should give Kirby hope. Cig is showing that the blueprint of having an offense that eliminates mistakes with a good running game and a defense that plays disciplined assignment football with great fundamentals is still king of college football.
Kirby needs a qb and a rb and he'll be fine.

I've just always thought he's one of the best in game coaches with adjustments when things arent going well. He's not immune to the portal though, they are about to lose their starting RB to Ohio State.

With respect, I think Kirby already knows your points. His problem is he is recruiting 4 and 5* players that are way more interested in Dollars than not making mistakes nor giving 100%.
It's one and done unless you have to money to retain the best. Hell, you can't even retain the less now.
The roster numbers of good players will be similar to the NFL now. Keeping 60 good players will be a struggle. The last 25 will be practice dudes.
