I hope so but I’m not getting my hopes up. He could be trolling like that Edge from Tennessee did this week.

True, but at least he's on campus right now (unlike Ross, who never visited)

Haywood UM and Shull from AU are ranked higher on ON3 but question do you go after a kid from a P5 program that is in the portal and lost a star/went down in ranking or do you go after a kid from a g6 team that coming out of HS had no stars and now is a 3 or 4 star. Not to mention the g6 kid has something to prove and will demand the money a P4 player might

I'm going for the hongry kid.

Incorrect as the House Settlement included a third-party clearinghouse that had to approve all NIL deals. It is called NIL GO

Here’s the problem: the Clearinghouse is approving just about everything. They are supposed to determine if the deal is at fair market value. How can they determine that? There’s virtually no previous history, so unless the offer is completely outlandish, the offer IS fair market value because that is the market. If they try to be more stringent, they will get sued. The Clearinghouse was broken from the start.

Yes, there is no baseline for market value, and many coaches are already complaining about it. Also, one of the reason the lawyers and even the state AG in Texas has told schools to not sign the agreement that would allow the CSC to enforce issues that may be above fair market is language in the agreement.

Now if all schools were all to sign the agreement for the CSC to enforce and punish schools(meaning preventing the NIL deal to go through my understanding it could not be challenged in the courts as part of the House settlement agreed to this. The CSC would not be preventing players from getting NIL or transferring just not to get unfair market value because of rich boosters.

Until schools willingly give the CSC power there will be no cap or regulation of NIL.

Alabama isn't so good that we can be above anything that helps win more games as long as it isn't illegal.

I don't care if Ty Haywood took the bag over his long commitment to us last year. If our staff thinks he helps the team win in 2026, sign him up if he's interested.

I really like the Danitz kid after seeing his highlights. Kid has a motor and at 6'5 230 can run a 10.5 100 he is always putting pressure in the backfield. I know only DIII and the talent he is going against is not SEC level but that is a nice combo of size and speed.

Plus with that frame could be a great TE for us.

Just my opinion (which means squat), I expect Cam Coleman to commit to Alabama, sometime Sunday. If I’m wrong, I’m wrong…lol

Its not wise business to recruit someone who will go and chase the biggest bag anybody throws at him. I would rather have guys that want good coaching and to learn valuable life skills such as team work, dedication, and comradererie than someone who here for $$$. So I stick by my earlier comment..no thank you

There’s going to have to be a complete overhaul in roster management and I’m not sure our staff has figured that out yet. 1) if a high school player will not be able to play and contribute by year two, you wasted a scholarship and NIL money because he will be in the transfer portal after his 2nd year. 2) OL take the longest to develop out of high school so recruiting OL should rely heavily on the portal and take only absolute studs out of high school. 3) NIL money must be awarded based on production not potential. The majority of money should be spent on players that have shown their value. You wanna get paid? Make plays. 4) Leave no stone unturned evaluating players. Look at every team in every division.

It’s not looking good for our team at this point. OL was a huge area of need and we’re not filling that void. I hope we close strong and prove me wrong or 26 is going to be a long season.

There’s still time. Just because someone is ranked 3 today in the portal doesn’t mean he’s the right fit. Portal closes on the 16th. Guarantee we will see more entries.
