I wonder if they would consider rotating in Ragland in the ILB spot to close out games. Then in 2015, he and Foster clog up the middle with Lee and Evans outside.

Even if he doesn't start, Ragland will get some meaningful PT this year for sure.

yeah i'd like to see a heavy rotation at LB.
tim williams is another guy who probably should get some playing time.
plus, if you consider X. Dickson a JLB, then we've got a bit of a logjam at OLB. that's why i was wanting to see Evans at SLB, but a lot of people think he will be at Jack.

•Newly hired support staffer Tosh Lupoi made his first appearance at Alabama practice
•RB Altee Tenpenny, whose arrest over Spring Break came to light today, was in his usual spot on the practice field. He lined up behind T.J. Yeldon, Derrick Henry, Kenyan Drake and Jalston Fowler. Alabama coach Nick Saban that his punishment, as far as the team was concerned, would be internal.
•It looks like it's experiment season on the offensive line. We saw Leon Brown working at multiple spots, Brandon Greene working on the right side and Austin Shepherd lining up on the left side and Grant Hill playing some guard. We'll have a better idea of where things stand Saturday. When he spoke Monday, Saban hinted toward this sort of stuff happening. It's typical for this time of year.
•QB lineups haven't changed. Blake Sims and Alec Morris threw at the same time and so did Cooper Bateman and Parker McLeod. If a pecking order has emerged, the media's not seeing it.
•Reggie Ragland continued to work with the outside linebackers. That's the second day we've seen it.
•Alabama signee Keith Holcombe was on hand for today's practice.
•So, too, were a slew of former players: Cyrus Kouandjio, Anthony Steen, Josh Chapman, Jesse Williams and Chance Warmack.
•Darius Paige, a 2013 signee who was medically disqualified, was taking in the action, too.
What's next?
Select Alabama players will talk with reporters after practice. The Crimson Tide gets back to work Friday.

Blake Sims meets the media. Honestly did not expect to hear from an Alabama QB until September. pic.twitter.com/Fwm9ScPH1W

Best wishes to Blake, but he better enjoy that attention while he can before Coker gets on campus.

BOL's observations (paraphrased) My thoughts in parentheses.
Safety order during individual drills:
Landon Collins, Williams, Smith, Washington, Cook, Hootie. (Wonder if Williams will continue being the second safety or if Smith will overtake him)
DL first string: Reed, Ivory, Ashawn (Interesting that Allen is not on first string right now.)
DL second string: Allen, Ball, Orr (Also interesting that Pettway isn't on second string.)
Brown wore a brace on his left shoulder but went through regular drills with the cornerbacks. (Is that the same shoulder he injured in the UAAA practice?)

Senior safety Nick Perry goes up against Sims in practice. He said that while Sims is working on a different aspect to his game, it's his athleticism that makes him a wildcard.
"There are two plays with Blake: the one they call on offense and then when that one doesn't go right, it's the one he makes with his feet," Perry said. "He's a dangerous player."

this should help them get prepared for teams like AU and TAMU and OL miss

I really wouldn't be that surprised to see Sims starting. Also I would like to see Ivory get jumped at NG unless he has made some significant improvement.

we dont really have anybody to jump Ivory right now. Lake is injured and Kirven has slimmed down to DE size. For now it looks like they want Reed and Robinson as DEs.

Hopefully we'll have better options than Ivory and Sims by season's start.

I think he has a good shot to win it. Cokers film is less than impressive.

I hope he doesn't win it simply because I don't want to have two years in a row of a first year starting qb. Especially since 2015 we seem primed at every other position to make a title run.

Sims career has been less than impressive
