I have lost my passion for Bama BB and not sure whose fault it is but it started last year with the crappy O that AG likes to play. This year seems to be a bit better on the O side but you got several bigs who are useless most games and one is a junior and the other a senior. No development to make them major contributors to the team.

Derek Kellog
Donnie Tyndall
Michael White
Steve Masiello
Greg Lansing

Just pulled a few random names out of a hat. Would any of these guys be a good fit in Tuscaloosa?

Many of you don't remember when Whimp was the coach. Games were an event. A party. It was great BB. If UA gets a Good BB coach it can return to that.
What you have now is like a funeral. You always know how it turns out.

Glad to see someone mention Masiello. Only issue is if he's successful, he'll be on a flight to UK b/c they love his type.

I'm just curious to what's your infatuation with Masiello? It's not like he's lighting the world on fire at Manhattan, though they look to be having a decent year this year. Is it because he learned under Pitino?

The pedigree and the fact that not only he can recruit, he knows offense. He's on youtube alot.

I trust Battle to fully vet a candidate despite a record on surface. Lots of folks thought Stan Heath was the isht b/c Kent St. went elite 8.

You want maiseillo to be the head coach of Alabama, because he learned under Rick Pitino. Did we not learn anything from Grant?

I used to say frick him and run his arse outta town but in all seriousness are we delusional when it comes to having a tourney team year in and year out? I'm just not sure that we could hire anyone other than Pearl that could get this done. So right now I don't give a frick if he stays, gets fired, steps down or gets caught scratching his balls on the court.

under wimp we had a tourney team more years then not. It can be done in the SEC with about 69 teams making it. On top of that the SEC was down last year and we still could not make it..I don't care about this crap about him averaging 20 wins a season.

Masiello has strong connections to northeast, where alot of bball talent exists. Pearl is connected to midwest, same benefit.

Alabama doesn't produce the studs like it did in the 80s or even 90s. We need players with good bball iqs in order to be a year in and out ncaa team.

There's no excuse for us not to be a team that makes it at least 3 out of every 5 years with the occasional sweet 16 appearance.

Hell yea, even CMG took us to 5 straight tourneys. 1 in 5 years with no wins is a disgrace. Pearl is the right man for the job.

Pearl will be a hot name and Bama may not be the hot school

Agreed. Is there any chance that Grant will leave on his own and we won't have to fire him? Maybe the pressure will mount and it will be too much for him. I guess that's just wishful thinking though

leave on his own..you saying he is going to pull a Mcgee on Bama and leave like Mcgee did at UAB..we won't be so lucky..and who in their right mind will hire him as HC of their team when he is a loser as the Bama HC...Heard a BB guru on sports talk this morning that said Bama is just not getting the quality recruits that it needs to play at an elite level.

And the "quality recruits" he has gotten are horrible. He has to be one of the worst talent scouts in the business
