This. Every move this guy has made screams Dabo.

Everyone will wish we hired Kiffin in a couple years.

I know this is a troll post but for anyone reasonable actually on the fence this is being regarded as a home run hire in the industry. Everything we said about Austin Armstrong when he was about to interview should be applied to Wommack but on steroids. Knows the area incredibly well, his defenses are nasty, DBs are aggressive and ballhawks (hello Downs), and he’ll recruit even better with the resources we have. Don’t forget, he may have been at a smaller school but had to go against dudes like Clark and Sumrall on the trail and beat them regularly.

Home run hire and I’m going to sleep much better tonight.

Like Pruitt, you need to give this shite up.

Did everyone question Saban when he brought people he worked with previously? No, no they didn’t.

This is literally networking, though. Having been around someone in a working situation that you trust, and also recognize talent in. I see zero wrong with this hire!

Saban's original staff was loaded with folks that he'd coached with in the past, brought with him from the Dolphins staff, or was some buddy's highly recommended position coach.

They’re not in the working world yet.

Pretty much everyone who has hired Kiffin including Saban has regretted it .

I hope whoever recommended Major Applewhite lost his spot in the Saban friendship circle.

I know a guy who covers IU sports. He said a lot of folks wanted him to be hired as head coach. They’re happy with Cignetti, but at the time, Wommack had a lot of support.

What type of defense does Wommack run? I wonder if we’ll run a 4-2-5 like DeBoer did at Wash.

That’d be incredibly interesting with the personnel we have currently.
