He has an office in the stadium, and has already agreed to a certain amount of quality control with program.

Just seems better option than dumpster fire hire

The man loves coaching, but he’s self aware and humble enough to admit that the quality at his helm in that area has declined. He’s 72. He’s retiring.
I also noticed someone on social media shared that his daughter was doing a Q&A on Instagram and was asked if there were any positives in her mind about him retiring, and she said that they will probably be taking long international family trips that they couldn’t in the past due to how time consuming the coaching lifestyle is.
I don’t think he wants to commit to being in a booth or on sidelines in any capacity anymore, but still wants to add value to the program in an appropriate role that doesn’t overstep boundaries to the new coaching staff.

Look, everyone’s entitled to their own opinion, but maybe just chill for a bit. I’ve read some bizarre stuff on here before but this is a doozy.

Fair enough.

Thank you for the kind reply.

Nick Gentry just sent his resume to DeBoer.

It's not hurting anyone at all. Of all the things to get upset over on a damn message board, this one is ridiculous.

Let's just sit back and wait folks. I think there are a ton of domino's that can fall.

I don't see any urgency in hiring. If someone leaves, frick 'em. I'd rather have the right coaching hires than the right players...at the moment.

What happens in this scenario? Would Minter be available? Would Bo Davis be available? etc.

The transfer portal is 100% the issue. Allow players to sign contracts with a school and then everything will work itself out.

I think we still have a lonnnng way to go this offseason.

With that being said.... Someone mentioned Corey Raymond earlier. I'm not sure why we wouldn't reach out for an interview at a minimum.

That dude is a great coach AND recruiter. Not that many folks out there.

Pretty sure Rees will be staying as the QB coach. Simpson tweeted a photo of him and Rees

I wonder if he can recruit. If so, bring him on over.

Unlimited NIL + instant free transfers is a nightmare

I've been saying this all along. NIL isn't the problem; it's the transfer portal. It makes college football a non-stop bidding war.

From what I've read, he was the best recruiter on staff
