Looks like the Chargers are heavily recruiting Harbaugh to be their next HC. Wouldn’t it really be wise to wait and see if Mich DC is going to be available?

I really don't care about traction. I know the recruiting thread hasn't had many eyes on it because of the coaching search but Jason Robinson is just as good as Ryan Williams.

I just want people informed on the gems they find that we might look over because of star ratings.

Ah...yes, yes it would. Especially given that he only makes $1.2mm

I would think UM will hire the guy that was running the show as the HC and the DC will hang with the program as well.

Does anyone feel like it's super hard to find a coach that is great at recruiting AND coaching?

I feel like most assistant coaches are one or the other now-a-days? I get younger coaches being better at recruiting while older coaches have more experience at motivating/coaching.

Are the coffers really that dry?

I take it you haven't saw him play that's why you think it's bold.

Justice Williams looks like he could be a play maker from day one as well.

I believe you're going to see less and less great coaches going forward.

Kirby wasn’t going to get Downs either way. He’d be at Ohio State over Georgia

Depends. Offering Minter $2-$2.5mm (Steele made $1.9mm last year) is a helluva a reason. Minter made $1.2mm last year

What’s one reason he would be interested? Don’t say $$$ because many schools would pay him.

Well, money has to be considered. It wouldn't be a small raise. It would basically be twice what he currently makes. And given the current situation with Harbaugh, you just never know.

As I said, many would pay for him. He really has no connection to Bama or the south.

Is this because we are getting older?

I'm including myself in the "we". I thought the same thing re: seeing less and less great coaches in the future.

That’s a great quote from Smith on X.

I really think we got the best possible option to replace Saban. He wouldn’t have been my first choice, but now thinking about it he should have been.

And full disclosure I have no business ever even saying who should have been the choice, I remember, in 2007, I wanted Bobby P to replace Shula.
