"This year alone he had the 6th ranked offense in the nfl in yds per game and 10th in scoring working with basically 2 practice squad guards due to injury and a right tackle that checked out after signing a big contract. Matt Ryan and Julio both still had arguably career years. "Keep in mind that is at the nfl level not college. We’re talking about competing against the greatest football minds on the planet and he was arguably considered one of the best based on numbers. We are talking about a level of competition where even Saban was much less successful posting a 15-17 record. We’re talking about checkers and chess.

Good enough to get fired.

What does that have to do with me being a falcons fan who dislikes sarkisian?

I feel like we are having the same reactions all over again. Just replacing Kiffin with Sarkisian.

Oh. That’s understandable.

However, I’ve had to sit through his offenses the last two years with the falcons and realllly didn’t want to watch it again, especially with Alabama.

If we don’t end up with Sark for whatever reason, I’d take a look at Rhett Lashley. That’s probably not a popular choice but considering what we want to do offensively now, I think he could show us some things.

if butch is recruiting, then he's been promoted. analyst cant recruit.

If an on-field coach is hired away, NCAA Bylaws allow for an off-field staffer to take their place recruiting on an interim basis.

Possibly. Or his wife preferred the opportunity to move to Coral Gables instead of Northport.

Coral Gables isn't for everyone, but I assume it has more to do with long hours and likely a whole lot less involvement on offense

Diaz is a brand new HC as well so a lot less pressure

Ok but the whole HE COACHED THE 6TH RANKED OFFENSE IN THE NFL thing is so incredibly dum

I will attempt my best to break this down, I'm a Bucs fan so saw it twice a year

Atlanta struggled quite a bit with running the ball because of the OL

EVERY single team had to, at the very least, double down on Julio, most cases shade a S over and dedicate 3 sometimes 4 guys. That allowed a lot of opportunity underneath with Calvin

More times than not, he got the most out of that matchup, being in the top 10 offensively in the NFL proves that

Sark still stands as a great QB coach/passing game coordinator in my mind...I agree with thinking about what he had to work with the one year before at Bama.

I believe Sark may not have jived with Matt Ryan, and I still have my doubts about Ryan.

That added with the fact that they had a really bad defense and in the NFL, when a team can't give an already depleted OL some rest, it doesn't bode well for any QB regardless of who is calling the plays.

I am still processing the hire so I can't say whether I am for or against yet but I would 1000% be for bringing back Stoutland

Maybe, but I'm not sure his wife ever even moved to Tuscaloosa. His daughter was still in school at Shiloh until June.

They were also without their #1 RB for the entire season, and there's a big dropoff to #2.
