Just to have him on staff as an analyst would troll some folks

That would be my hope, or even as a position coach/passing game coordinator.

Too early to know if he's seriously considered for OC, clear there's just a lot of interviews happening for several spots.

I think that the lack of a power run game from OM while he was there was more a product of necessity than design. They had some shitty OLs, good QBs, and a bunch of big, NFL caliber WRs. And if you look at the RBs they recruited while Freeze was there it wasn't just a bunch of 180 pound kids. He went after big backs like Bo, Henry, Chris Warren, etc. They just didn't get them.

Bigger meltdown: Freeze or Canada?

I've alerted the Coaching Changes board to this new development.

Either way LSU fans will melt. They are mired in nepotism and mediocre seasons, sadly.

Good man. Personally I think they'd be pissed off more about Freeze than Canada. They were claiming they couldn't hire him because SEC HQ "discouraged" member institutions from employing him, so watching Saban turn around and hire him a week later would send them off the deep end with conspiracy theories.

Could Hugh Freeze be considered for a position coach? He coached TEs at Ole Miss under Orgeron. Joe Pannunzio currently coaches them but is being rumored to move over to support staff.

Hearing Long didn’t interview well. We’ll see. Looks like he fell on the list.

Hugh will have to server at least one year at the Nick Saban Football Coaches Rehabilitation Facility before being issued his cleats again.

This is exactly what my thought was as well. Its more that he adapted to what he had. He never had the OL and RB Bama has.

I actually liked the hire and prolly the ONLY one that wouldn’t mind him taking over for Saban in a few years. Would love to see that offense at Bama one time before I die. lol

Good enough job to be let go right before the biggest college game of his career.
