You just hate to see that happen to a guy like Mo

I can’t stop laughing. One of these days these idiots will learn that relationships with Trump are merely transactional and only transactional to Trump’s benefit. Mo has spent 6 years with his lips firmly affixed to Trump’s balloon knot, and he drops him without blinking.

Would be a pretty stupid corporation to have 50 different departments doing the same exact thing. Your analogy fails on many levels, namely that separate departments serve the overlying goal of the corporation. The fedgov is supposed to serve the interests of the States.

Your side has already won(not saying you are a dem/rep whatever but a supporter of overarching govt) but youll never convince me you are right. Doing so would mean I reject the original framework and ideals this country was founded on. From a practical standpoint, it fails for me as well. I get you are trying to convince me that my understanding of the situation is not as complete as yours. You are wrong. I just have a different opinion than you...which is perfectly fine on both sides. Enjoy the fairy dust money why you can.

*side not: lose the smugness. Laughyface emojis imply that my argument is absurd or something. Its not

1) The 50 states have 50 different agendas regarding their own state. If they didn't there'd be no need for both.
2) You said,"The fedgov is supposed to serve the interests of the States." herein lies our fundamental disagreement. If states have different agendas/priorities, the federal govt. MUST consolidate them all and form a national agenda.
3) I'm not expecting to change your mind on anything, and I, also, believe that the fed is too deep into affairs that should be those of the states, BUT putting states before federal is simply putting "the cart before the horse".
4) It may well be "fairy dust", but I'm pretty sure it's gonna end up being repaid by the working folks of this country, so until we can get the type folks in Washington who'll turn this "train" around, I'd expect the folks representing me to get as much of "my" money's worth as possible.
5) I don't ever remember being called smug before!
I apologize if you perceived it as a slight, but I'm more of a "visual" learner, so emojis just come instinctively.

There is no reason to believe every state would have to do this at the same time.
States work on a yearly budget, plus do you really believe that EVERY state involved would vote the same way, and basically at the same time? You don't actually think that one state would build a road to the state line, then just walk off and leave it, do you?

For some reason, the Orange Used Car Salesman has a cult following. H3ll, I've been studying his technique.

But aren't they budgeted "per year"?

There's always been issues with US Democracy and railroads. We even had a railroad bubble in the late 1800s b/c of it.

If they would, we'd have had a convention of states to reign in the federal government years ago.

No. I believe one state would improve their road up to the state line, and that would put pressure on the next state to do the same. You know, the way literally everything else works.

Example: our state is only considering gambling at all because all the states around us have it.

Large capital projects are usually budgeted on a project basis. They're included in the yearly budget, but are typically separate from other funds used for other purposes.

Terrible decision. This basically seals the race for Katie Britt.

I'm still voting for Mo.

Prediction: Mo Brooks will change none of his stances as a result of this lost endorsement. His views have nothing to do with what Trump does or doesn't do.

Of course he won’t. It’s just hilarious to see how much he humiliated himself. His Twitter handle was “MAGA-endorsed Mo Brooks” and was the premise of his entire campaign. He learned no lessons from Jeff Sessions it seems.

Nothing else needs to be said. This is where we disagree. A majority of the founding fathers would have disagreed with you

Do you really believe that the founding fathers perceived our society as we are today? I seriously doubt they'd have a problem with keeping/financing a standing army, or using them to guard our borders if they were around today.

No, it would have been much cheaper and more efficient.
