Not happy for Bama but I am happy for Nick Saban

I mean the guy is 72 and very much deserves to enjoy the rest of his years coaching-free. I seriously doubt he leaves the world of football. Plus, he'll have many other things to do in his retirement.
Very happy for him and his family!
Bitter-sweet day for us. Roll Tide!

This was exactly my reaction. This sucks for us as fans, but dang I’m happy for the dude that has brought an immense amount of happiness to myself and my family for over a decade.

Can’t complain really. This run has been unreal and we have been very lucky to have witnessed it.

There’s rumors saying he retired for a reason. Possibly dealing with Mrs Terry’s health. Hope it stays a rumor and isn’t true

Absolutely no reason to complain, Saban can do what he wants.
I do not want to see him retire, but I understand it. Everyone can't ask for more than he has already done

Happy for him, but also very sad especially for how the season ended. Would really have liked for him to have gone out on a high. Part of how I coped with the loss was telling myself next year Saban would be ready for some revenge. Idk, still processing. But obviously happy for him and all he did. Absolute legend of a coach.

I think it is his Mother's health. IIRC she is in her 90's. Her health has declined in recent years and I think that was part of the decision.

If he's retiring for these reasons (family's health), then that makes him even greater in my eyes. I've felt ever since 2020, it's going to come any year now and he's done more for UofA than anyone since Coach Bryant. I do hope he gets to enjoy it. I'm sure he will.

As Mal said one time “thank God he’s on our side.”
