They didn’t have the money last year. It was a debate this year even. He had several opportunities to give himself another year

Yeah, the wife is an FSU alum and I’ve been telling her FSU is in a world of hurt… couple his buyout with a $430 mil debt and it’s no wonder they haven’t hired an AD yet… it’s bad. Who the Hell walks into a situation with that hanging over their head AND hiring a new coach, AND getting donors to continue to pony up cash for a shite product?
It could be the death knell for that program.
Miami has tons of money and can sell location and hot latinas…UF can sell the SEC…FSU has nothing to entice players at this moment.

I've never been to FSU's campus but the girls they brought to T-Town a few weeks ago pretty much looked like what I assume outsiders think Alabama women look like... like they're one puff of a Marlboro Red away from transforming into dust.

Norvell was on the short list of people that were reached out to in a “if we were to offer would you be interested?” way. Those people were Sark, DeBoer, Norvell and Lanning. Sark considered it but ultimately said no. The other 3 were willing to listen and DeBoer was the 1st choice.
Lanning and Norvell used the interest to get fat raises.
ETA: Context is important here. Norvell was a hot name. He’d just led FSU to a 13-0 season. It really went to hell after that season as he kept missing in the portal. That’s the danger of hiring someone who only caught lightning in a bottle.

I think they might consider this for the right price. Jimbo has mended his FSU fences and has been all over their media this season.
He also has probably gotten over his wife having sex with the FSU tennis player that led him to want to take the aTm job to begin with.
