The “not penalized for making the Championship game” rule better not apply when said Championship game is against the one semi-decent team they’ve played all year.
There are no rules. That's the beauty of it. They can do literally whatever the frick they want and there aren't any repercussions. That's a big reason why I'm not sweating this too much. It's the first year of a new playoff format. Interest will likely be higher than usual. Just the number of people who'd tune in to hate watch us after we backdoor our way into this thing dwarfs anything SMU would net them.

SMU should be put back on the death penalty after this shite. Stank

Prior to the OU game lots of people were on here saying the committee would never drop us if we lost the SEC CHAMPIONSHIP game, and that teams would not be punished for losing a championship game. Now people are saying they will drop SMU for losing in a championship game.
People will say anything to try and convince themselves of what they want to hear. It’s comical.

There is a massive difference in Alabama losing the conference title game and SMU losing their conference title game.

No I do know because they literally told us what they graded, they told us they could drop SMU then they told us those who made it and aren't playing won't be penalized. So only SMU will be if they lose. You guys just ignore the facts
Probably. But nobody is ignoring facts. The committee has shown that they can just do what the hell they feel like. There are no rules and they have been inconsistent plenty of times in the past. There will certainly be voices in that room questioning dropping a team from top 12 to out of top 12 based on losing conf champ game. Hopefully the SOS/resume voices in the room win out as they should and as they have mostly done in the end most years.

Clemson deserved that for not going on 4th and 2 against a sieve defense.

This is starting to feel like a tied at halftime game.

Especially with their kicker who has been terrible all season.

Please explain this massive difference, other than one is ranked in the top 10.

Sean McDonough. He sounds like a 12 year old boy when he yells.

The kicker for SMU is from Prattville.

That's literally what you're doing comparing the SEC and B1G championship game to the ACC.
I mean for FFS BYU beat one of the teams in this CG game and was their toughest game all season.
