I wish. Maybe they’ll stick around for another year if eligible

Mel Kiper also mocked Malik Willis in the first and Matt Corral to the Steelers at #20 Mocks mean absolutely nothing until the combine and interviews. That’s when you generally see actual feedback and scuttle from scouts

Yes the guy that has been doing mock drafts since the 70’s is prone to have some bad misses. He’s not going to just throw Milroe in the 1st round without hearing from people around the NFL. The consensus this week has been Milroe answering a lot of doubters questions and then continuing to project his improvements.

Hopefully he’ll be able to sustain those 15 play 75 yard drives so he can one day be as elite as Ty Simpson.

I am genuinely curious if your opinion of Jalen has changed at all after the game Saturday.

He's dug in with his opinion. He's not going to change

Dude said there are concussions every game and Brady and Rodgers have had multiple concussions. The internet just lets people make up shite.

Jalen Milroe --- maligned by is own fan base, but praised by the scouts.

There are still people on this board who would bench Milroe for what's his name.

People like that are miserable. Guaranteed the happiest they were during the game was the period we were struggling and Georgia was mounting a comeback. I bet several of them had paragraphs long posts ready to hit submit explaining how Bama losing was all Jalen's fault. Worst part of the game for then wasn't the possibility of losing but having to delete their "Told you so" post.

And you completely whiffed on the point that mock drafts aren’t accurate six months out. You can do the same Malik Willis/Matt Corral example for every single year. Remember Deshone Kizer being mocked #2 behind Garrett?

quote:

Kiper has received sustained criticism for the low accuracy of his predictions. According to Cold Hard Football Facts, Kiper's accuracy for the first round of the 2005–2008 NFL drafts was 32 of 127 total picks (25.2%), which included players that had already signed or were in the process of signing with a team before the draft. According to The Huddle Report in 2014, based on Kiper's final mock drafts, he had accurately predicted 23% of the first round picks in the previous five years. Kiper's initial drafts were even lower, correctly predicting 17 out of 256 from 2010–2018. In 2021, FantasyPros ranked Kiper's final mock draft 87th of 182 and Grading the Experts ranked his draft 32nd of 38. In 2023, Kiper correctly predicted only one of the 31 draftees in the first round despite updating his analysis on the morning of the NFL draft after gathering additional information.

There’s “missing” and then there’s the vast majority of mock drafts being clickbait articles regurgitated year round for advertising views with poor accuracy. The purpose is to get you interested in the draft process, potential trades, and big names; it’s not to be accurate

Mocks and the actual draft are a media spectacle more than anything. The fact people pay ESPN+ for Kipers barebones analysis is mind boggling

Mocks aren’t all that great, but if you just actually watch the games it’s obvious he’s trending into a first round pick. But some people care more about being “right” about their opinions

It’s really weird. No way any of those people could own a business or have people work for them.
