NIL has evened the playing field

Hear me out... A key ingredient to championship programs is continuity.... I don't care how talented a team and/or coach might be. How many coaches have ever won a CFB National Championship year one?? We also discount the fact that most of these kids don't come from ideal socioeconomic environments.. They can make 6 figure $$ instantly.. Saban saw the writing on the wall.. Prior to NIL it was MUCH easier to stack talent AND build continuity which is one of the reasons Bama was so dominant during his stretch..
I say this because so many of us are ready to crucify Coach Deboer without giving him a chance to implement HIS system, which BTW he's been EXTREMELY successful with far less talent and resources... I believe in Coach Deboer. He is one of the best in the game and COach Saban IS RETIRED(deal with it)... We saw what he was capable of the first half of the UGA game and the games prior.. Let him get HIS type of players(QB especially) AND let his team build a little continuity and Bama will be FINE...

I think there's just as much chance that NIL will actually result in more talent stacking. I'm not prepared to judge its effect so soon.

This is how I feel but it's also going to crush schools like Mississippi State who will never be able to outbid most SEC programs.

My point is continuity...Let's support our coach 100% while he builds it and gets his system in place..

How many coaches walk away from a national championship team to allow this to happen?
I know Barry Switzer, Dennis Erickson, and Larry Coker won national titles in Year One and that was because the previous coaches jumped to the NFL.
ETA: Plenty of bad or mediocre coaches have won a national title, but how many bad rosters have won one?

I agree. We don’t need “Bryant boys” running to the President or BOT when we lose a game …. That’s the kind of shite Auburn does and Bama did after Bear retired ….. let Byrne and KDB do their damn job or we will end up like Auburn as Boz referred to. Geez

NIL didn't cause us to lose to Vandy. They got a few transfers that helped, but so did we.

Good take. Barry was the ultimate player's coach who recruited great players. I lived in Oklahoma at the time. Things went well until they started shooting at each other. Cooper was a good coach, but did not embrace recruiting. He actually won two but got reffed in the Ohio State game with a terrible pass interference call in the end zone. A no call gives the game to Miami. Erickson was not a very good coach any way you slice it.

I meant Coker not Cooper, who coached at Ohio State and could not beat Michigan.

I disagree. NIL is a different animal. Not all schools are capable of shelling out big bucks to obtain top talent.

Hasn’t UGA gone like 4 seasons without losing to a team other than Alabama? I don’t buy this idea that parity is up, and if it is, it has more to do with bad QB play than NIL.
If you put Jayden Daniels, Caleb Williams, or Drake Maye on Alabama last season, do you think anyone is talking about parity being up?

It will take a lot more than a few years to "level the playing field."
It will never truly be leveled either because some schools will spend way more money than others with no salary cap.

I think the bigger issue is the transfer portal and not having to sit or stay any period of time after using it.
NIL will balance itself out. Money always levels to performance.
