A BOL "insider" (connections) -- "Tua is qb1 and there legit is no debate. I’ve talked with several ppl and idc what any rec member is saying. The staff and players have long known Tua is qb1, and they’re only trying to find a role or how big of a role Jalen will have."

This. This is what my insider has been saying since the spring.

He said Jalen certainly played better in scrimmage 2, but the deep balls were to wide open guys that ultimately still had to wait on the ball. They weren't perfect dimes.

He emphasized the stat line for both scrimmages:
Tua - 7 TDs 0 INTs
Jalen - 2 TDs 3 INTs

Idk what the hell that guy was talking about when he said "high risk." Tua is the guy with the clean sheet.

To me, this is just classic Saban not wanting the starting QB info to get out. This is why he was so pissed that Lowery leaked how much better Tua was in scrimmage 1. He doesn't want to show his cards for the simple reason that he doesn't have to

When Coach spoke to all of us following the scrimmage, he did add that there were some missed or blown coverages in the secondary at times.

There are more ways to screw up as a QB than just throwing interceptions. Many more. Basically, a QB doing anything that results in a negative play, and worse still is anything that significantly puts us behind the chains. It basically kills a drive.

This. A thousand times this. Yet so many folks prefer - nay, invent - drama.

There will be plenty of drama soon one way or the other

No, there will be plenty of football soon, one way or the other. I will not be a part of any drama, and will actively avoid it. I love this sport too much and have waited too long for this season to let some emotionally-unstable idiots dictate my narrative or enjoyment.

And if that means spending less time on this forum or avoiding many threads altogether, so be it.

Football is ultra-violent chess, not some badly written teen soap opera on the WB. And it damn sure ain't TMZ. Anyone who makes it that is my enemy.

Just watching the “Rolling with the Tide” series. Both of our qbs are classy guys . Jalen seems to be a great leader and well spoken young man

You should sit down with him and tell him these things. With your football IQ and overall knowledge concerning what's best for the team, I'm sure he will offer you a job as an analyst or an offensive play caller.

Look, I’m not saying that people aren’t overreacting, but the way that some of y’all feel the need to shut down any opinions about coaching decisions with your toe-the-line virtue signaling is ridiculous. Here’s the thing: Saban doesn’t read this board, and your Tide Pride status doesn’t go up when you respond to anything critical with your whole “you’re not Saban” schtick.

I swear Saban could literally decide to start Big Al at QB, causing us to lose 0-100, and anyone who questions it would be met with “WERE YOU AT PRACTICE DO YOU REALLY THINK SABAN ISNT GOING TO START THE BEST PLAYER HOW MANY RINGS YOU GOT????!?!!?”

I can't do that. But if you can get to the Denny's in La Uruca after my brother gets off work, let me know. We'll throw hands.

Season's here. It's "head on a swivel" time. I just gave my neighbor's kid a forearm shiver on my way to the mailbox.

Tots and shakes. Pshhh. Ridiculous.

Turnovers suck, but having no arm, no ability to move the chains by throwing the ball, and making the offense 1-dimensional is so much worse than a turnover here and there.

Watching Ridley throw up his hands in frustration last year So many times and watching Cam Sims and company turned into glorified blocking dummies made me want to puke. It is time for change. Tua time or Saban has lost it.

I won’t go that far but ONCE in my life ( been watching since 70s) I would like to see a prolific, high scoring ( with threat of pass) offense to go along with our usual defense
