The right offensive coordinator could of used Leary correctly but we had Billy O'Brien.

I think there's a couple freshman who could start a long the offensive line honestly.

Bond, Prentice, and Anderson are all going to be special but they got to put time in this off-season to work on routes and timing with the quarterbacks.

Here's another scenario (with no inside information):

Hugh Freeze is building his staff. He needs an offensive coordinator. His offensive coordinator at Ole Miss in 2017 was Phil Longo. Longo is now the OC at North Carolina where Maye plays. Auburn throws the bank at Longo and Maye as a package deal while we sit here with BoB still on our staff and no quarterback with real experience other than Milroe.

This board would light up like Christmas in anger at our lack of aggressiveness.

And just for fun, Longo is supposedly on Freeze's short list to become OC. Going to be interesting.

Drake Maye isn't leaving North Carolina.

You're probably right. It's just an example to prove another point I was making and it's interesting to think about. (and Maye was committed to Bama originally so, he could entertain playing somewhere else)

Riley is another guy being looked at by Freeze and Duggan has a 5th year available.

Watch for Tony Grimes. We recruited him and he just entered the portal. One rumor around campus is UA might be a landing spot. Not sure what our interest level is. OSU and UGA may be a possibility as well.

His original final four was UNC, Ohio St, Georgia and A&M. Would be a nice pull.

His is not looking at a&m and leaving UNC. We were recruiting him we had a crowded room at DB and that is no longer the case. Not saying we can get him but we definitely should make the effort and we are a possibility.

They are not a package deal. Maye outside of family went to UNC because of Brown and the relationship him and his family have with Brown.

quote:

"I'm a Carolina kid. It means something wearing that Carolina blue," Maye said when asked if he planned to return to UNC next season. "That's my intentions. I love this place. These fans have been great. It's been a heck of a season. First year for me, I couldn't ask for more."

From 2 days ago. Also rumor is he may be close to landing Young type of NIL here at UNC.

I wasn't disagreeing with you. I'm saying the fact we are in the mix is a good thing and would be a good pull. By all means, go after him.

And the Longo and Maye package deal was just a hypothetical but it is true that he committed to Bama originally with Mack at UNC. And I already said it was probably right that he was staying at UNC.

I've seen him evaluated at late first to late second round. Barring injury, he will test very well.

Young hurt himself with that silly throw away with his chest 2 feet from the ground.

Pretty telling how lowly rated most of our guys transferring are. JoJo is the highest at 19. Man Brockermeyer went from a 5-star recruit to a 3-star transfer. That's crazy.

We really need to flip Proctor because this OL would be nasty:
LT - Latham
LG - Booker
C - McLaughlin
RG - [INSERT ANYONE]
RT - Proctor
